What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The quality of responses depends largely on the dataset the game operates on. Early Access allows the dataset to grow and the overall quality of experience to improve.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Less than a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As an interrogator you will face a number of people to interrogate and cases to solve.
All interactions with suspects and supporting cast are defined by a dataset. As the dataset grows, so will the quality of player's experience. Different approaches to solving cases will be addressed with player's feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes all core features and cases, and the overarching mystery can already be solved. However, the experience may be rougher around the edges compared to the full release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will rise only if there is a significant improvement in quality during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The game includes a way to share anonymous transcripts, provided consent, this directly helps in expanding both dataset and interrogation design. Players tend to approach suspects in many, creative ways, and the game should expand in respect to that.
Other than that feedback given from the community will be taken into account during development of final release.”

About This Game

The small town of Repriev, in the remote state of East Dakota, is gripped by an unprecedented crime wave. Rumors speak of a self-proclaimed prophet manipulating events from the shadows. You, pathologist Frank, and officer Pulaski are sent to uncover the truth, joined by a new partner, Charles, a fellow interrogator. Together, you will question suspects, connect scattered clues, and investigate cases that slowly reveal the source of the town's collapse.

Every interrogation matters. Conversations shape investigations, testimonies contradict each other, and the truth must be extracted one word at a time. Newspapers, personal journals, and witness accounts gradually build a larger picture of what is really happening in Repriev.

Note that the game features a small embedding model localized within game's files, not an advanced AI system like LLM/Llama/GPT. It runs locally, on your computer, game doesn't require any internet connection. If you're expecting an immersive AI experience, you will be disappointed. The Primary tool of input is either word of mouth or written text. Conversation is the main focus of the game.

There's a humorous aspect to the game, intentional and otherwise.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The game includes an unholy amount of AI-generated content, including:

- Textures
- Images
- Music
- Audio effects
- Voice lines
- Facial and body animations
- Code

Game allows player to use voice as a main input tool. To achieve great quality of speech to text, a base version of openai's whisper model is used.

The content seen in the game is not live-generated. The player's input is embedded into a vector through a small model with 278M parameters.
Model:
paraphrase-multilingual-mpnet-base-v2
(Used primarily for wide support of languages)
Then, the game uses Faiss to match the player's input to known, predefined inputs. Each of those describes a reaction and change in the state of the game.

Icon was made with local diffusion model.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

At this moment depiction of violence is contained to case file description. You might read about deceased subject of violence in gory detail, for instance in pathologist's report.
