Leaving Early Access: April 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“CoffeeShop Simulator is made by one developer. Its foundations are there: the barista gestures, the daily service, the shop management and free café building. What it still lacks is depth over time: more varied days, goals after the last tier, more kinds of customers, controller support. Early Access lets me build these with players instead of guessing: what makes the rush fun or frustrating, which drinks, food and furniture players want, and how long a campaign should last.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm planning on roughly six months, with the full release targeted for spring 2027. This is an estimate, not a commitment: the game leaves Early Access once the planned content is in and saves are stable.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Here is what I plan to add before the full release, roughly in this order:
- Days that don't all feel the same: special orders, events and busy days, customers with their own habits and requests.
- Goals that keep going: more objectives, Steam achievements, things to aim for after the final tier.
- More to serve and buy: new drinks and food, seasonal menus (the in-game calendar already has seasons), new equipment.
- More ways to make the café your own: furniture, decorations, finishes and building options.
- Controller support and Steam Cloud saves.
- Balancing and polish guided by your feedback: pace of the rush, prices, animations and sounds.
These are intentions, not promises: the order and details will follow what Early Access players ask for.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is not finished. What you can play today:
- Every drink is made by hand: grinding, tamping, extraction, steaming milk, cold drinks, smoothies and teas; each cup gets a score and advice.
- A full day: preparation, about 13 minutes of service with queues and customer patience, last orders, closing and a detailed report every evening.
- Shop management: prices and menu, suppliers and deliveries, storeroom and fridge, running costs, maintenance.
- Progression through five tiers unlocked by your mastery, with upgrades and recipe kits.
- Free café building: buy and place furniture and appliances, move your stations, knock down and add walls, open up the room next door, paint, choose among three addresses.
- A photo mode, a guided first day (the tutorial can be skipped), remappable keys, AZERTY/QWERTY, interface scale, milk-pouring assist, interface in 13 languages.
What is still missing or limited: days follow the same pattern (no events or special orders yet), few objectives and no Steam achievements, a small set of customer types, no official controller support, and a campaign length that is still being balanced (it will change with updates). Single-player, Windows only, keyboard and mouse. Save files are meant to carry over between updates; if an update ever requires a fresh start, it will be announced in the patch notes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access price is lower than the planned full price: the game will cost more when it leaves Early Access, to reflect the content added in the meantime. Buying during Early Access means keeping the game, with every update, at the price you paid.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As a solo developer, the Steam Community Hub is where development happens in the open:
- I read every review and discussion thread, and I answer.
- A pinned "Known issues & what's next" thread is kept up to date, so you always know what has been reported, what is being worked on and what comes after.
- Every update ships with patch notes explaining what changed and why.
- When choices are open (which drinks, which furniture, what to balance first), I ask the community directly in the Hub and follow the answers.
- Short progress clips are posted on Instagram between updates.
Bug reports are most useful with your save file and the game log (Steam > Manage > Browse local files > Saved/Logs): a pinned thread explains how to attach them.”

About This Game

Your dream, your café

You've always dreamed of opening your own café. This little neighborhood shop is finally yours: bring it to life, alone behind the counter, from your very first espresso to the place the whole neighborhood recommends.

Real barista work

Every drink is made by hand: grind the dose, tamp it level, lock in the portafilter, pull the shot.

The machine has its own programs (espresso, lungo, filter coffee) and stops by itself at the right dose. Steam and aerate the milk in the pitcher under the wand, then pour it… all the way to a latte art heart.

Every cup gets a score out of 100, with tips to do better next time.

A menu that grows with you

  • 13 coffees: espresso, lungo, americano, filter coffee, macchiato, cappuccino, latte, vanilla latte, mocha, café chantilly, honey-speculoos latte, iced americano and iced latte

  • Teas, chocolates and cold drinks: hot and iced teas, hot chocolate, Viennese chocolate, chai latte, lemonade, smoothies, frappés, milkshake, fresh orange juice

  • Matcha and bubble tea: hot or iced matcha latte, bubble teas

  • Pastries and meals: croissants, donuts, muffins, cookies, sandwiches, salads, bowls…

The rush

Customers queue up, order at the till and pay by card or in cash: count out the right change. Juggle several drinks at once, serve at the pass, and don't keep the till waiting: customers' patience runs out there.

Some take their drink to go, others sit down… and leave cups and crumbs behind. Clear the tables, do the dishes, rack the cups, wipe the tables and sort the trash.

From morning to night

Get the café ready before opening, run the service, call last orders, then close up. Once the day is done, night falls over the neighborhood and the windows light up.

Run the business

Set your prices, order from suppliers, shelve deliveries, watch your costs and margin. Every evening, a detailed report: sales, waste, satisfaction, cash. No sudden bankruptcy: a bad day can be turned around.

  • Five tiers unlocked by your skill, all the way to the "Neighborhood Café" goal

  • Kits: cappuccino, syrups, iced drinks, tea bar and pastries, blender, citrus press

  • Gear: two-group machine, better grinder and steam wand, pass rail, dishwasher

  • Regulars who come back for their favorite drink

Your room, your style

In build mode, everything moves: counters, appliances, tables, chairs, plants, lights. Put up walls, open doorways, expand into the room next door and paint the place your way.

Three addresses

Linden Street, Artisans Square or Market Avenue: pick your spot, each with its own furnished café.

Comfort

  • Guided first day (tutorial can be skipped)

  • Keyboard and mouse, remappable controls, AZERTY and QWERTY

  • Field of view, UI scale, reduced animations, milk pouring assist

  • Three save slots plus autosave

  • Interface in 13 languages
