About This Demo

As of right now, the demo for this game contains the first quarter of the first chapter of Divine Omen's story. Why release an even smaller piece of an already episodic game? I decided to release this demo simply to have something to show off while I work on the remainder of Chapter 1. Creating a demo comprised of my work so far seemed like the best way to get the game out in the open and get people excited for what comes next. No harm in giving out a teeny tiny taste, right? :-) When Chapter 1 is fully finished, it will be uploaded in its entirety to this demo page, for free. The remainder of the game, when it's ready, will be accessible on Divine Omen's main store page.

Avan did his best to ignore the nightmare from the night before. It was something he'd learned to live with - something he'd dealt with since childhood. It was easy to write them off until the pain he'd felt in his dreams followed him into the morning.

The young man holds his aching hand as he makes his way to the watchtower he'd been summoned to. A little girl was found dead in the woods outside the city early that morning. Her body was covered in black blood, a sign that something sinister lurks outside the city walls. A number of reports on the Guard Captain's desk suggest she's just one of many victims. Against the wishes of the Lord, Avan is tasked with investigating the scene where the young girl's body was found. The night before he was set to depart, two strange figures visited his dreams. They came with an eerie message:

"Executioner...your first and your final trial waits for you there...at the temple."

It didn't mean anything. At least not then.

In Divine Omen, your choices mean life or death. Take on the role of Avan, a young doctor plagued by nightmares of his past mistakes. Use the messages in Avan's dreams to save the lives of the people close to him...or send them to an early grave. Even the most inconsequential actions can have dire consequences. Listen carefully.

Use Avan's journal to further immerse yourself in the world around you and the characters who call it home. The journal is a tool for refreshing yourself on what you've seen and even catching up on what you may have missed.

Features:
  • Story rich, choice driven narrative with horror, fantasy, and LGBTQ+ themes
  • Simple gameplay suitable for all skill levels
  • Complex, lively characters that respond to your actions
  • Journal feature provides optional character, event, and environment lore
  • Nearly 500 hand drawn sprites, backgrounds, and journal entries
  • Over 4,000 unique lines of dialogue
  • Episodic release - more to look forward to later!
  • Estimated 2.5 hours of gameplay
