The Story:

In the not-so-distant future, humans got hopelessly obsessed with social media. They scrolled, liked, and posted selfies all day long, forgetting how to have real conversations. Real connections vanished, empathy evaporated, and the human spirit dulled. Even thinking and creativity were outsourced to AI and robots, turning humanity into a bunch of apathetic screen-zombies.

A group of tech moguls, with their evil genius hats on, created the most addictive social networks ever, ensuring everyone stayed glued to their screens, drooling and docile. However, one brave visionary saw the disaster coming. He rallied a small band of enlightened individuals and developed an AI to fight back by posting educational content and encouraging real-world interactions. Predictably, humanity resisted. They banned books, shunned learning, and treated programmers like medieval witches. Society nosedived further into stupidity.

Just when all hope seemed lost, an advanced alien civilization—actually humans from the distant future—got in touch. They handed over the tech to create portals to other worlds and times. With this gift, the visionary could escape Earth before it became a giant landfill of dumbness.

He split his followers into small groups and sent them through the portals to find intelligent life and keep humanity's legacy alive. But the influence of social media was strong. Many brainwashed followers also jumped through the portals, spreading their dullness across the cosmos. These aimless wanderers, known as flucters, marked the era hilariously named The Great Fluctus.

As a player, you're on an epic journey through these bizarre new worlds, meeting civilizations that evolved in the weirdest ways. Some societies worship AI like it’s the new rock ‘n’ roll, while others live primitively to avoid repeating the mistakes of their ancestors.
