About This Game

Your first day at Title 4 Cash, a small title-loan shop, October 2016. You have 14 days of probation to prove you belong at the front desk.

People walk in needing cash fast and hand over the title to their car. You check the paperwork, approve or decline, and get paid for every call you get right. The rules keep changing, the days get busier, and three warnings get you fired.

Make it through probation and the job becomes a career, with nine weeks to your year-end review. Will you go by the book? Slack off on the office PC when nobody's watching? Take the cash a customer slides across the desk? And when a big chain comes to buy the shop, whose side are you on?

APPROVE OR DECLINE

Every customer hands over a car title, a loan request and whatever today's rules ask for, like a license or an insurance card. Spot the expired license or the name that doesn't quite match. Get it right and you get paid.

NEW RULES KEEP COMING

Every few mornings the handbook adds a new rule, so yesterday's easy yes can be today's no. Three warnings and you're fired.

SLACK OFF ON THE OFFICE PC

Coworker e-mail drama, spam, little games like Snake, and files you probably shouldn't open. The clock keeps ticking, though.

THE REGULARS

In Career, some faces keep coming back: a line cook saving for a taco truck, a widower driving Route 66 with his late wife in the glovebox. And twin plumbers, both named Dale. Sometimes the rules say no and your heart says yes.

In Career, a customer sometimes slides cash across the desk. Take it and you can't say no to them. Leave it, decline them fairly and earn a small honesty bonus.

PEEK AT THE PARKING LOT

Save up for camera software and check the car out front. Doesn't match the title? Flag it, decline it by the book, and that pay doubles.
