Why Early Access?

“We genuinely believe in making this game with the community, not behind closed doors. We are a tiny team of two, self-funded and self-published, with no publisher or investors to answer to. The only people we answer to are the players.

We feel Hungry Horrors is at a point where it is solid, playable, and fun, but also open enough to benefit hugely from real player feedback. Early Access lets us show where the game is right now, be transparent about where it is heading, and shape the rest of development together with the people actually playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our aim is under a year, but we want to be honest here. It depends on how much feedback we get and how much demand there is for additional content and improvements.

We would rather take a little longer and do it properly than rush to a 1.0 that does not feel right.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are planning the full 1.0 release to include a complete storyline.

Beyond that, we plan to add more biomes, Horrors, characters, dishes, and events. Much of the additional content and polish will be shaped directly by feedback during Early Access.

We also have ideas for extra modes and systems once the main experience is finished, but we are deliberately keeping those flexible so we can respond to what players actually enjoy and ask for.

We will have available roadmap to show you what exactly we are working on and what is coming next. If you interested.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and already quite substantial.

It currently includes:
• 5 biomes
• 20 mythical creatures, each with a unique ending animation
• 42 traditional dishes
• 7 legendary npcs
• 5 original music tracks written for the game by Henry Taylor
• A wide range of seasonings, cookware, artefacts, and potions to collect and combine

We do not want to make rigid promises about exact numbers going forward, but we have plans for a lot more content depending on reception and feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes.

We strongly believe in rewarding people who support us early. Hungry Horrors will launch in Early Access at a lower price, with an additional big launch discount to make it more accessible.

As more content is added and the game grows towards 1.0, the price will increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to hear it all. What you like, what you do not like, bugs, balance issues, suggestions, and also what you enjoy the most.

We are making this game to be played, and your opinions genuinely matter to us.
