What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Soul Trigger is an adventure game where replayability and player choices truly matter.
To make those choices meaningful, we believe it’s essential to fine-tune balance and content using real player experiences.

Early Access allows us to build the game together with you. By listening closely to your feedback from the very beginning, we aim to shape Soul Trigger into a more fun, polished, and satisfying experience for everyone.”

About This Game

World

Technology that reconstructed the memories of the dead crossed into forbidden territory — the attempt to materialize souls themselves. The result: the worldwide catastrophe known as the Soul Outburst.

Countless people vanished. The rest mutated into monstrous Creatures. And across the world, dimensional spaces where reality overlapped with the spiritual plane — Residual Rifts — began to tear open. Left unchecked, these rifts consume the world around them, swirling with the chaotic memories and echoes of lost souls.

Humanity retreated into Haven — the only safe zone where the chosen few can survive.

You are a Special Investigator of the Soul Stabilization Union (SSU). Tasked with uncovering the source of recent anomalies near Haven, you are deployed into the rifts — spaces teeming with Creatures and the echoes of the lost.

A broken world. A buried truth. A price paid for choices gone wrong. Survive. Reach the truth. Prove this catastrophe was no accident.

Game Features

Soul Trigger is a 2-character tactical turn-based roguelite RPG set in an urban fantasy world. Character-driven storytelling, modular exploration, and half real-time combat come together for a uniquely immersive experience.

Side-View Tile-Based Half Real-Time Combat

A unique combat system blending turn-based depth with real-time tension. Control one character at a time on a side-view tile grid, swap with allies as the situation demands, and exploit enemy weaknesses to inflict [Down] for a tactical edge.

Build-Defining Growth Systems

Tailor each character to your playstyle through [Stat Enhancement] and [Traits].

At the hub, equip [Implants] (Cybertech / Bioware / Soul Mining) to permanently expand a character’s capabilities. During expeditions, earn [Traits] that reshape your build every run.

Traits draw from four pools — Common, Character, Skill, and Tag — and synergize with 13 skill tags (Mobility, Ranged, Nail, and more) to deepen build variety.

Modular Exploration — Roguelite Runs Built from Rooms

Each expedition is built from Rooms hosting combat and events.

•       Combat Rooms: Auto-triggered battles against region-themed enemies. The primary source of growth resources.

•       Event Rooms: World-rooted encounters offering random rewards, NPCs, buffs, and consumables.

Every expedition generates a fresh map layout and reward distribution, so even familiar regions demand new routes and strategies. Which room you choose shapes both your survival and your spoils.

Dialogue That Reacts to You

Characters respond differently based on your actions, party composition, progress, and accumulated choices.

Facing a boss for the second time, deploying a new ally for the first time, or in the wake of a pivotal event — every situation shifts how your companions speak.

Across repeated runs, fragments of memory surface piece by piece, slowly revealing the true face of this world.

A Hub-Centered Expedition Loop

Choose 2 of 4 allies (Harang / Siwoo / Valentin / Lokk) at the main hub and set out.

Gather resources through exploration, return to upgrade your roster, and head back out — a tight loop built for deep immersion and high replay value.

A Stylish Blend of 2D Characters and 3D Environments

Expressive 2D illustrated characters meet richly layered 3D environments, creating a visual style both distinctive and refined.
