This base is operated by a rebellious military faction within the US Army that is developing a new and highly dangerous weapon.
This faction is under the protection of a prominent US election candidate, making it impossible for the US Army to intervene directly to dismantle them. Moreover, the absence of actionable evidence against the group complicates the situation further. In such a scenario, the US government decides to seek help from one of its long-standing adversaries to indirectly eliminate this group.
