Why Early Access?

“Having the game in Early access, would allow players to help me define the direction of Subsist from the very beginning with feedback and suggestions. This will be a crucial part to help me make the best survival FPS out there.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I don't have a clear idea of how long it will take me to finish the game. Subsist is a long term project and I am building it solo, which makes even more difficult to give estimates. Before releasing the Early Access version of the game I plan on publishing multiple public demos, which will be released for free to gather feedback, suggestions and bug hunting.

Being a solo project, the rough estimate for how long the game will be in Early Access would be somewhere around 2-4 years, but this is subject to change based on how the game evolves and how many people might work on it in the future.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan on adding more weapons, more POI (points of interest) in the world and more customizations which can be applied to the player. I also plan on adding modding into the game once it is out of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The aim of the early access is to provide the basic vibes and core mechanics to the game. This involves:

- Core FPS mechanics
- Full weather cycle
- 10 fully animated weapons
- Inventory and looting system
- Enemy AI system
- Shelter system”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase once the game goes out of early access, but I don't have a clear idea of how much is it going to be at this stage.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community feedback and suggestion is going to be a crucial factor in the development of Subsist. I am using multiple social media channels but I will focus on Discord, I am also really active on Youtube and Twitter to post updates and news, so make sure to follow the game to be always on top of the latest news.

There will be at least two Public Demos before the Early access release. I don't have dates yet, but this is my rough roadmap. I will use the two demos to gather feedback ask for suggestions and bug hunting.”

About This Game

In Subsist, you'll be challenged to survive in a world that's turned against you. Every day is a test of survival as you scavenge for resources, hunt for food, and seek out shelter.

An open world map at your disposal to create your story. In Subsist there are no quests, no pre-defined gaming paths, you decide your journey to survive. Whether you're scavenging for food, crafting essential survival tools, or defending against hostile creatures, every moment, every decision, is crucial to staying alive.

Loot and store materials, food, medicine, electronics and weaponary gears based on realistic mechanics. Gather resources to craft tools, weapons, and other items that will aid in your survival. Prepare yourself for the dark nights and stormy days with a season-inspired day/night cycle.

Before resting and finding shelter in one of the abandoned houses, tents or bunkers on the map, make sure to clear it out of zombies and hostile creatures. You can also add fortifications and traps to keep out the undeads.

Your survival skills will be put to the ultimate test in this post-apocalyptic world.
