About This Game

Nonu chronicles the story of a desolate island, hidden from the world, succumbing to a plague of violence. The god Nonu has disappeared. The 4 Factions are in shambles. Finding and restoring his power is integral for everyone's survival. Resources are scarce, and your enemies have you outnumbered.

As Nonu's reluctant champion, you will have to piece together an impossible mystery about the world, and its eclectic inhabitants, to heal people's hearts, and consequently, save the world. 

Souls-Like With A Twist

• Every action has a resource cost, even Jump

• Actions require commitment, and must be undertaken carefully

• Heat functions as a generated resource for the player, with stamina being the generator

• Heat is also produced naturally in the environment, available to anyone that can get to it, even Enemies

• The Player can convert Heat back to stamina in a tight situation, or save it for utility or damage

• Enemies can also generate Heat via various means, and unleash devastating attacks

• Combat is centered around execution of consecutive keys to create combo moves, each with a unique purpose

• Take good care of the Nunem you collect in battle, and use them to upgrade 4 differing attributes

• Enemies are intelligent, and quick to take advantage of any opportunity

Hand-Drawn Visuals and Lore-Rich Atmospheric World

• Every piece of art in the game is hand-drawn; environments, character animation and VFX

• 4 eclectic civilizations dominate the island; The Villagers, The Scavengers, The Monks, and the Volcano Elite, each with their own cultural and religious sentiments

• Discover their secrets in a vast network of interconnected levels, full of shortcuts and the odd trap

• Explore to understand the history of the world, and find remnants of lost technologies called Machin to bolster your prowess in battle

• Machin can completely alter how the Player functions. and can give your offense many different flavors; from builds centered around heat, to ones that require it to never be used

Nonu is not just a souls-like. Nonu is not just a metroidvania. It is a fresh experience, that borrows from both, but cements itself as something new. 

Even if the jaw-dropping visuals, satisfying combat, and quirky enemies don't pull you in, the sad story of this little island surely will. It will forever find a place in your heart, and hopefully leave you with a little more spirituality than when you started.
