Why Early Access?

“HaeTae: Guardians is a challenging action-adventure game where players combine various items and traits to engage in immersive boss battles. We want to gather player feedback to perfect the ideal user experience we envision, allowing us to launch a more polished and complete 1.0 official version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our core systems are already well-established, which we believe will allow for relatively fast development. We expect to approach completion in about a year. However, this timeline may be extended as we actively implement community feedback and focus on quality-of-life improvements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature the conclusion of the main storyline, alongside additional quests that dive deeper into the lore of the supporting characters who aid the protagonist. Furthermore, we plan to introduce and regularly update 'Wave (Ordeal)' content, which allows players to challenge bosses under special rules and fully test the strength of their various item builds. We also aim to offer a wider variety of character progression methods, secret techniques, relics, and additional weapon classes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes approximately 50% of the main story content. Synergistic item (relic) mechanics and the Crown Prince progression system are already implemented, along with 5 unique boss monsters and 3 elite monsters. Players can also experience the 'Wave (Ordeal)' system to re-challenge bosses, as well as a skill-transfer system and secret techniques that offer a glimpse into highly customized and specialized character builds.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase upon official release depending on the amount of content and playtime added during the Early Access period. We plan to set a fair and reasonable price that reflects the true value of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We aim to elevate the game's quality and deliver a better experience by listening closely to our players' valuable feedback. We will actively gather suggestions through Discord and Steam Discussion pages, while continuously monitoring reviews and player reactions to shape a truly great game.”

Game Description

The Four Guardian Gods, who once protected the kingdom from demonic spirits, have succumbed to a mysterious corruption. As ancient evils swarm the land, the kingdom teeters on the brink of ruin.

Chosen by the Yellow Dragon, you must embark on a perilous journey alongside HaeTae, the divine beast of protection. Can you purify the land and save the kingdom from its darkest hour?

Top-Down Combat

The Prince handles physical strikes while HaeTae unleashes divine skills. Start with basic movements and attacks, then evolve your arsenal by meeting various mentors. The bosses are unforgiving—victory requires precision and strategy. Can the Prince endure and save his kingdom?

The Groggy System through Purification

HaeTae is the ultimate symbol of purification. By landing HaeTae’s skills on corrupted bosses or elite monsters, you can trigger a Groggy state. Master HaeTae’s timing to create windows of devastating opportunity.

The Boss Challenge: The Trials Never End

Defeating a boss is just the beginning. Test your limits in Boss Trials, featuring tougher conditions and environmental hazards. Overcome new rules and monster combinations to achieve high scores and earn rare relics as rewards.

HaeTae Awakening

HaeTae can store divine energy to unleash a massive burst of power. As you land continuous attacks, HaeTae’s portrait transforms, signaling the awakening of a devastating form. This power varies depending on the Boss Essence you have equipped. Find the awakening that suits your style.

Mentors and Secret Manuals

The Prince can learn various techniques from allies encountered throughout the journey. Beyond that, you can obtain Secret Manuals by defeating bosses or exploring hidden areas. Construct your own build using the 'Secret Manual' system—where immense power always comes with a price. 

Boss Essences: HaeTae’s Infinite Evolution

Defeating a boss grants you their Essence. These Essences can be used to fundamentally change HaeTae’s abilities. Switch between Essences anytime to experiment with different synergies. Will you focus on explosive firepower, or choose to outmaneuver your enemies with sheer agility?

Relic Collection

Acquire Relics by defeating elite monsters or conquering Boss Trials. Relics grant the Prince special powers, and Set Bonuses can exponentially increase the capabilities of both the Prince and HaeTae. Combine them with Secret Manuals to test diverse performance builds and find the strongest combination!

Game Tips

If you can overcome the first boss, the Heavenly General (Jangseung), you have what it takes to reach the end of this journey.

Do not falter. Walk the path of purification until the very end.
