The Marine Corps is a branch of the military designed for expeditionary operations, amphibious landings, and overcoming fortified enemy defenses in coastal and other regions. To achieve this, the corps possesses its own forces and equipment, including armored vehicles, artillery, and aviation.

Its design allows it to have excellent takeoff and landing characteristics while maintaining high performance at supersonic speeds.
