About This Game

The game replaces traditional cards with 'equipment + actions' and card cycling with action cooldowns. A limited battlefield adds depth to combat decisions, the rune system opens far more room for customizing equipment, and equipment upgrades provide numerical growth for your build. Over a hundred enemies offer varied challenges. Three completely different playable characters are available, each with content unlocked as you progress. Two additional difficulties are also included, each with its own new system that raises the challenge while offering more build options.

Equipment + Actions

You can hold up to nine pieces of equipment in a run. Each piece has one passive effect, up to three actions, and several rune effects. During combat, actions are drawn by equipment: all actions on a piece are drawn into your hand together. Equipment can only be purchased from the shop.

Action Cooldowns

There is no discard pile; instead, actions go on cooldown. After an action is used, it must wait a number of turns before it can be used again.

A Limited Battlefield

The field holds multiple characters who can move left and right. Every piece of equipment has its own attack range, and its actions inherit that range. Enemy attacks also have ranges, so you can dodge by moving - but be careful not to be cornered.

Runes and Upgrades

After each battle you receive rewards such as healing, money, actions, and runes - your main source of actions and runes. They can also be bought in the shop. Upgrading applies to equipment: an upgrade strengthens both the equipment's effect and its actions. Runes cannot be upgraded.

A Wide Variety of Enemies

A run consists of fifteen battles. In each you must withstand attacks from several enemies; kills earn money. Every fifth battle is a boss fight. Every enemy has unique intents and abilities, and boss enemies wield powerful, deadly powers.

Multiple Playable Characters

The game currently has three playable characters. The Knight defeats enemies with basic attacks and defense. The Sorcerer wields water, ice, fire, lightning, and wind. The Summoner fights through summoned minions. Only the Knight is available at first; the others unlock through play.

Advanced Difficulties

Two additional difficulties are available. Clearing one unlocks the next, and each step strengthens enemies. The first advanced difficulty enables the blessing system: after defeating a boss, choose one of three blessings - their effects are very powerful. The second enables the optional difficulty system: at the start of each new battle, choose one of three modifiers. Each offers both risk and reward, and you may take or skip them as needed.
