About This Game

DESCRIPTION

Mirage is a single-player psychological horror game where you play as an involuntary test subject trapped in an unstable space born from a technological accident. Designed to explore and optimize the human mind, an experimental headset propels you into a parallel world: an infinite maze of liminal spaces. You must explore, collect memory fragments, and survive a reality that’s falling apart.

You’re not supposed to be here. And this place knows it.

UNIVERSE

Mirage draws inspiration from Backrooms lore, with its endless corridors, harsh lighting, and overwhelming sense of isolation. This isn’t just a simulation glitch—it’s a cognitive trap, inadvertently created. Each level explores a different facet of this tear in reality: empty offices, frozen labs, impossible rooms.

OBJECTIVE

Explore the different levels to uncover what happened. Find objects, read documents, listen to recordings, and piece together the timeline of a forbidden experiment. But be careful: here, the rules shift. Walls move. Objects hum. The space is watching you.

LEVELS

The game features several themed levels, each with its own atmosphere and mechanics:

Level 1 – The Unstable Office
First activation of the headset. A false calm lingers—then, slowly, the dissonance begins to rise. Fluorescent lights buzz with something off.

Level 2 – The Yellow Halls
A pure liminal space. Endless yellow corridors, damp carpet, silent and disorienting. It’s not empty. Not really.

Level 3 – The Schizo School
Abandoned classrooms echo with forgotten lessons. Hallway bells ring at the wrong time. Scribbled drawings come to life when you're not looking.

Level 4 – The Hollow Suburb
Rolling hills, perfectly mowed lawns, identical houses stretching into the fog. The sky never changes. Mailboxes contain notes written by you—but in a different handwriting.

Level 5 – The Factory Static
An endless factory floor. Machinery runs without purpose. Gears turn in rhythm with your heartbeat. Something watches from the catwalks.

Level 6 – The Basement Core
Cramped boiler rooms and dripping pipes. Darkness creeps like fog. The walls breathe—and they remember your footsteps.

Level 7 – The Iron Mine
Claustrophobic tunnels stretch forever. Pickaxes lie where workers vanished. The silence is deafening, broken only by distant, rhythmic tapping.

Level 8 – The Lost Arcade
Flickering cabinets glow with no power. Glitched 8-bit music loops endlessly. The games know your name—and they want to play.

Level 9 – The Transition Tunnel
A warped, infinite corridor between realities. Gravity shifts. Logic fails. Time skips like a scratched VHS tape.

Level 10 – The Poolrooms
Vast, empty aquatic facilities. Pale blue tiles and still water. No exits, only echoes. Something swims below the surface, always just out of sight.

ENTITIES

Some presences wander the Backrooms. They’re not always visible... but they can feel you're there. These are not traditional monsters: they are corrupted fragments of the system, or echoes of trapped testers.

Some watch.

Some follow.

One sees through the walls.

Avoid noise, hide in the shadows, and watch for changes in your environment.
