What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We've opted for Early Access to directly involve our community in the development process, ensuring that we create a game that meets the needs and desires of our players. By granting access to the game during its development phase, our players have the opportunity to provide feedback, report bugs, and suggest improvements. This open exchange enables us to continuously enhance the game, ensuring it delivers an outstanding player experience upon full release.

We believe Early Access is a fantastic way to cultivate a vibrant and engaged community that actively contributes to shaping the game. Additionally, by making the game available early, we can identify and address potential issues before its official release, ensuring the game has a solid foundation and maintains a high level of quality from the outset.

We appreciate the trust and support of our players throughout the Early Access program and look forward to working together with them to make the game a fantastic and enjoyable experience.

Thank you for your interest in our game and your support!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access status for a maximum of 6 months. During this period, we aim to develop the game into a refined and outstanding player experience. Within this timeframe, we will introduce three new levels, implement online play, and address bug fixes. We will closely collaborate with our community to gather feedback, address bugs, and make continual improvements. Your contribution as part of this community is highly valued, and we will keep you informed of any developments and updates regarding the timeline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The planned improvements include the introduction of additional levels and rooms in the Escape Room to deepen and expand the player experience. While initially only one room is playable in the Early Access version, we aim to provide four different rooms in the full version, each with unique puzzles and challenges.

Furthermore, we will listen to the feedback from our community and improve the gameplay and user interface accordingly. We are committed to continuously optimizing the player experience and ensuring that the game is as engaging and entertaining as possible. By taking into account the feedback from our players, we can ensure that the game meets their expectations and provides an outstanding gaming experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of **Questscape** includes the first playable section, **“Escape from Cell 13.”** Your adventure begins inside a mysterious prison cell, where you must uncover hidden clues, combine items, and solve challenging puzzles to find a way out.

The game already features core mechanics such as environmental exploration, an inventory system, interactive objects, and a variety of puzzles.

Questscape can be played solo or in **online co-op with up to four players**. Players can also choose between three different gameplay perspectives: First-Person, Third-Person, and Point-and-Click.

If you ever find yourself stuck, you can turn to Jerry, an unusual little rat who provides hints through the game's built-in hint system.

The current version offers a first glimpse into Questscape's world, story, and quirky sense of humor. Additional prison areas, puzzles, and content are still in development and will be introduced throughout Early Access.

We actively welcome player feedback to help us improve existing features, fix bugs, and gradually expand Questscape into a complete escape room adventure.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price of the game is expected to change when it leaves the Early Access phase and is fully released. During the Early Access phase, we offer the game at a reduced price to encourage participation in the development process and gather early feedback from the community. After the full release, the price will be increased.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively involve the community in the development process by regularly gathering and considering feedback and suggestions from players. To achieve this, we'll utilize forums, discussions, surveys, and other communication channels to facilitate open and transparent interaction with our community. Players can contribute their ideas and feedback, report bugs, and make suggestions for improvements, all of which we'll integrate into the ongoing development of the game. Through this close collaboration, our aim is to create a game that aligns with the desires and needs of our players, delivering a fantastic gaming experience.”

About This Game

Questscape – Escape from Cell 13

You wake up in a prison cell. No idea how you got here, why you've been locked up, or even where you are. But one thing is certain: If you want to get out, you'll have to come up with a plan. Because the prison administration has absolutely no intention of letting you leave.

Welcome to Questscape, a humorous escape room adventure packed with challenging puzzles, strange discoveries, and secrets that probably should have stayed buried.

At least you've got one thing going for you: The guards have temporarily disappeared. The perfect opportunity to escape! There's just one tiny problem. Every single door is locked, and the prison administration seems rather determined to keep its inmates exactly where they belong.

Explore the prison alone or team up with up to three friends in online co-op. Search your surroundings, combine objects, crack codes, and uncover what's really going on behind the walls of this very peculiar prison.

And if you think opening the first door means you're practically free… well, dreaming isn't against the rules. Yet.

🔐 Tricky Puzzles and Hidden Secrets

Behind every door lies a new challenge. Search rooms for hidden clues, discover unusual objects, and figure out how everything fits together.

Sometimes you'll need logical thinking. Sometimes a little creativity. And occasionally, you'll probably wonder what kind of lunatic came up with these puzzles in the first place.

👥 Escape Together – Or Lose Your Minds Together!

Solving puzzles alone is fun. Watching four people completely fail to notice an obvious solution? Even better!

Play solo or join forces with up to four players in online co-op. Explore rooms together, share your discoveries, and help each other overcome the many challenges standing between you and freedom.

Four heads are better than one, after all. At least in theory.

🎮 Two Perspectives – One Escape!

Whether you prefer being right in the middle of the action or watching your character struggle from behind, Questscape gives you the choice!

  • First-Person: Experience the prison up close through your character's eyes. Examine every corner, discover hidden clues, and feel like you're actually behind bars. Congratulations, by the way!

  • Third-Person: Watch your character from a third-person perspective and keep an eye on your surroundings. At least this way, you can see exactly who's struggling with the simplest puzzles.

Two perspectives. One goal: Get out of here!

🕵️ A Prison Full of Mysteries

You know you don't belong here. But why were you imprisoned in the first place? And where exactly are you?

As you puzzle your way through the prison, you'll stumble upon clues that raise more questions than they answer.

What begins as a seemingly ordinary prison break slowly turns into an adventure where nothing is quite what it seems.

Maybe you'll even discover who's responsible for locking you up. Assuming you make it that far, of course.

🐀 An Unusual Little Helper

When you're completely stuck and running out of ideas, there's fortunately someone who knows this place inside and out.

Meet Jerry! A little rat with a big mouth and a surprisingly impressive knowledge of the prison.

He's ready to offer hints whenever you need a helping paw. And probably a few comments you didn't ask for.

⏱️ The Clock Is Ticking!

You have 60 minutes per section to solve the puzzles and get one step closer to freedom.

Search every room, put your discoveries together, and try to keep a cool head.

After all, the prison administration isn't exactly known for its generous recreation policies.

🔓 Your First Case: Escape from Cell 13

Your adventure begins behind bars. A locked cell door, a seemingly hopeless situation, and an awful lot of things that just don't seem quite right.

But the cell is only the beginning.

Can you uncover the secrets of this mysterious prison and find your way to freedom?

Or will you eventually realize that your little cell was actually pretty cozy after all?

Questscape – Freedom Awaits. Probably.
