INFLUENT: A 3D LANGUAGE LEARNING VIDEO GAME

Influent is a language learning game on Steam that teaches foreign language vocabulary through exploration and interaction. Instead of traditional learning methods, Influent places players inside a fully interactive 3D apartment where everyday objects can be clicked to reveal their names and pronunciation in the selected language. This approach helps language learners associate words with real world context by seeing objects in their natural environment making vocabulary easier to remember and more intuitive to recall and use in real life situations.

Designed for language learners, students, travelers, and polyglots alike, Influent focuses on building a strong foundation of practical vocabulary. A BRIEF HISTORY

Influent is a Language Learning Game focusing primarily on vocabulary acquisition and pronunciation. It was initially developed in Japan at the University of Tsukuba's Entertainment Computing Laboratory under the Monbukagakusho Government Research Scholarship.

After the research term ended, further funding from a successful Kickstarter Campaign allowed for the completion of the game. Two research papers on the ideas surrounding the game and its applications was published by the Springer and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ).
