What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am bringing Escape Zombie Maze to Early Access because I am solely responsible for the development process and covering all expenses. Early Access provides an excellent opportunity to develop the game together with players. Currently, there are certain features and content that I haven’t fully implemented yet, so I aim to enhance the game experience and complete missing features with feedback from players. During the Early Access period, players will progressively gain access to new levels and features.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan for the game to stay in Early Access for 6 to 12 months. However, this period may be shorter depending on your support. If support increases significantly, the game could be completed in less than 6 months. I am covering all expenses myself, so community contributions can speed up the development process.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The differences between the full version and the Early Access version are planned as follows:

In the Early Access version, you will have access to the weapons and zombie AI seen in the demo, and you will reach a limited number of levels. As new chapters are added, you will be able to play these additional levels. However, although the completed sections of the game are the maze levels, you won’t have access to all of them in Early Access. The unfinished sections consist of maps outside the maze, which will be available in the full version.

In the full version, you’ll encounter other characters beyond the zombies you’ve already seen and interact with them. I’m aiming to present the game’s story in more detail. All systems in the demo will be included in Early Access, but since designing certain sections takes time, the full version will provide an expanded content and story experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Current status of the Early Access version:

In Early Access, there will be 6 chapters as seen in the Playtest version. These chapters are not the same as those in the demo; the demo chapters will not be available in Early Access. The demo version showed the gameplay mechanics and provided a glimpse of a small part of the game. In Early Access, the first 6 chapters will be easier, and the following chapters will gradually increase in difficulty. Since your ammunition is limited, you’ll need to use tactics to progress through certain chapters. The zombie AI is adjusted to provide you some ease. If the zombies don’t notice you and the portal is open, try to reach the portal quickly in those chapters. You won’t always be able to fight zombies or other enemy characters; sometimes escaping can be advantageous in the game. In some chapters, you’ll need to kill all zombies to open the portal.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price of the game will be different during Early Access and after its full release. During Early Access, I am offering a price that reflects the current content, aiming to create a good opportunity for players. As the game develops and new content is added, the price is planned to gradually increase. Therefore, purchasing the game during Early Access will be a good opportunity for players.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community in the development process as follows:

During Early Access, feedback from players will play a significant role in the game's development. I will regularly track and share updates on the Steam community page and social media platforms based on community comments and suggestions. My goal is to improve the game by making adjustments to in-game mechanics, difficulty levels, and new content according to the feedback from the community.

Additionally, I plan to create opportunities for players to contribute directly to the game by conducting periodic surveys and sharing test versions. This way, the community will become part of the development process and help guide the final version of the game with their feedback.”
