Once your basic needs are met, your goal becomes clear: build a new ship and escape the planet. But you quickly discover you are not alone. Hostile creatures roam the surface, and you must fight to survive. Are they connected to the catastrophe that left you stranded?

Escaping the planet is only the beginning. Launch back into space and explore other planets and moons as you uncover what happened to the research base, why no one has come to rescue you, and how this mysterious threat has infected the solar system. Your journey back to civilization will not be easy and the entire galaxy may depend on you.

Survival Mode drops you into a procedurally generated Earth-like world with nothing but your escape pod and your instincts. 

Start by crafting basic tools to gather resources through foraging, hunting, and mining. Cook food to stay alive, build shelter to protect yourself from hostile creatures, and upgrade your equipment to survive increasingly dangerous threats. As you grow stronger, you’ll unlock farming, advanced crafting, and the ability to forge powerful gear and armor from rare ores hidden deep underground.

Explore diverse biomes filled with unique resources, creatures, and dangers. Delve into dungeons, battle hostile enemies, and take on powerful bosses guarding valuable technology and materials. Each victory unlocks the technology and materials you need to build your spaceship and return to space.

Eventually, survival turns into exploration on a cosmic scale. Build your own spaceship, take to the skies, and pilot your way to other moons and planets across the solar system. New worlds bring harsher conditions, tougher enemies, and more advanced resources, challenging you to adapt once again as the mystery of the system unfolds.

Creative Mode removes all limits and lets you focus purely on building, experimentation, and artistic expression. With no story, no survival pressure, and unlimited resources, the entire solar system becomes your canvas.

Every world in the solar system is fully procedural, generated using simulation-driven climate and terrain models to create believable, explorable planets.

Our biome placement is guided by climate systems such as temperature, elevation, rainfall, and latitude. This means deserts form where you expect them, forests grow in suitable climates, and icy regions gather near the poles. By following real-world environmental logic, exploration becomes more intuitive and rewarding. Players can predict where certain resources and biomes are likely to exist, making discovery feel natural instead of random.

But PlanetSmith isn’t limited to Earth-like worlds.

Beyond familiar environments lie strange and wonderful alien landscapes. You may discover methane ocean worlds, bizarre geological formations, and maze-like terrain that twists across entire planets. Each new moon or planet brings unexpected environments, resources, and challenges to uncover.
