“The game is episodic and gets regular updates anyways, and our team wants to be self sufficient rather than rely on publishers. We always planned on releasing DLC episodes, and there were always meant to be multiple free updates with new features, items, abilities, game modes, and more. Instead of doing something like a kickstarter, it just made more sense to let people play the game now!”
