Why Early Access?

“We believe we have a great game on our hands. With that in mind, we only wish to make it better. Showing it to the world in Early Access allows us to gather info and make positive developments as we keep working on the game.

Keep in mind that we are a small indie development company, and the community is a big asset in more than one way for our development process. From showing early support to constructive and applicable feedback, your contribution is extremely valuable.

It is also worth noting that we believe that games in this genre can strongly benefit from community-building efforts in the early stages as they involve strategy, and gathering input on such matters can only benefit each gamer's experience in Bloodgrounds.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don't plan to have a long Early Access for Bloodgrounds. Our main goal is to involve the community in the Early Stages, but not to prolong the process of the final release. We are considering a period of 3 months for the Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Because we are only planning for a short Early Access period, the differences won't be that major. We have already developed a significant portion of the game and its gameplay, so we can conclude that the difference won't be astronomical. However, we will gladly act upon any feedback that comes our during the Early Access Period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Our Early Access version is in excellent shape, having undergone over six months of development. During Early Access, players will have three Ages to conquer, and they can dive into a fully immersive gaming experience. From strategic Battle Preparation to intricate City Management and exciting Arena Battle Runs, there's plenty of content to enjoy. For a closer look at features, head to our 'About this game' section on Steam Store or watch our trailer as it showcases gameplay footage from the current build.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“To show our appreciation to all of you who showed support in the earlier stages, our game will be discounted during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community is perhaps the main reason we decided on Early Access. We hope to gather as much feedback as possible from the gamers to boost anything we possibly overlooked. A fresh pair of eyes with experience in turn-based or city management strategy games can even open new possibilities or features to be added to the game. We also wish to start discussions about strategies to plan for future expansions and updates. And if you have any memes about the Roman Empire to share, they are also very much welcome.

We will make our Discord server a main gathering point for the community, while simultaneously utilizing other social media and their benefits to enrich the entire experience for anyone involved.”

About This Game


Take on the role of a wealthy gladiator owner seeking revenge against Emperor Dammas II, a man who killed your father and stole your youth!

Engage in turn-based grid arena battles, commanding class-based Gladiator units whom you must train, purify, and even sacrifice for glory. Explore a variety of mechanics, some designed to help you, others to deter you in your quest for glory. Embark on dynamic battle quests to fulfill Patrons' wishes and captivate the audience.

As a Patron, you will be delving into city management as you unlock, construct, and upgrade buildings to enhance your domain while also seeking divine blessings and utilizing Patron abilities for extra assistance. However, be prepared to use a sabotage system, employing shady methods to weaken opponents and secure triumph!


You fought tooth and nail for survival, driven by a burning hatred and a thirst for justice. Now, as a wealthy patron and gladiator trainer, you plot your revenge against the tyrannical Emperor who stole your freedom and murdered your father. But the path to redemption is fraught with peril, and you must navigate a treacherous world filled with deception and danger. As you manage your team in the arena and climb the ranks of society, you clandestinely sow the seeds of rebellion, gathering allies and plotting your daring assault on the Emperor's stronghold. Will you succeed in your quest for vengeance, or will you fall victim to the machinations of your enemies? Take charge as you create and upgrade city buildings, charting a path of progression that leads to newfound power and glory. But beware, for the road to dominance is fraught with challenges – only by defeating the city's Arena Champion can you unlock the next stage of your journey and progress further. You'll unlock additional building slots, expanding your realm and fortifying your stronghold as you progress. Before each run, meticulously assemble your team of Gladiators. Will you hire, duel, or show mercy in the arena to recruit them? Upgrade their levels, stats, perks, and abilities to ensure they're battle-ready. Don't forget to remedy any hindering stats, perks, or debuffs. Equip them with top-notch weapons, armor, and consumables, and upgrade their gear for maximum effectiveness. Enhance your gladiators' strength with deity bonuses and patron abilities. Hone your sabotage skills to outsmart your foes.




Immerse yourself in turn-based strategic combat within dynamic 2D grid arenas, where you'll command your units with precision, strategically positioning them to outmaneuver and outwit your foes. Spend your action points wisely as you unleash unique abilities and deploy consumable items to gain the upper hand, while cunningly setting traps to catch your enemies off guard. But the battlefield is not your only arena – complete dynamic battle quests of the audience during combat to earn their favor and secure your legacy. And remember, in Bloodgrounds, every decision carries weight – permadeath looms, meaning any fallen gladiators are lost along with their equipment, adding a layer of tension and consequence to every encounter.
