What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've been developing this game solo for nearly four years, dedicating myself to crafting a rich, immersive world with layered questlines and engaging content. While there’s still more work ahead to reach the full vision—perhaps a couple more years—I’m driven to make it the best experience possible for players.

Long-term, I hope to grow this project into a small indie studio, bringing on talented developers to help expand the game even further if it proves viable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm aiming for a few years in Early Access, though the timeline may extend depending on the game's success and growth. I have exciting plans to expand the lore and enrich the game world further if there's strong player interest. However, regardless of success, my priority is to deliver a complete storyline with a satisfying ending that stands on its own. Thanks for being part of this journey and for supporting indie game development!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game is in a stable, playable state, with core systems like the mini-map, quest and dialogue, and combat fully functional. The foundation of the comedy elements is also solidly in place. There are a few additional features I’d love to add, such as Steam achievements, more weapons, powerups and special moves.

Right now, my focus is on expanding the game with more questlines, jokes, activities, and locations, plus introducing new characters. Many of these elements are already written—I’m just focused on refining the game’s foundations so I can dedicate more time to enriching its world and content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“I’ve divided the game into four chapters, with Chapter One serving as an introduction to the main storyline and the game’s world. While I’m still adding a few more characters and quests, the core questlines—both main and side—are already in place. Essential gameplay elements like combat, dialogue, quests, and the mini-map are fully functional, so the game is in a playable state with plenty of activities.

Though it’s still a bit barebones, this version offers a solid glimpse into the game’s style, humor, and storytelling, giving you a taste of what’s to come!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the plan is to start with a lower price during Early Access, with gradual price increases as new content is added. Currently, I’m considering eight price adjustments with quarterly updates, but this may evolve based on player interest and feedback. My goal is to ensure players feel they’re getting great value as the game grows!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is essential to the game's growth, and I plan to make it a central part of development. I’ll be using platforms like Discord for real-time discussions, along with dedicated channels for bug reports, ideas, and suggestions. There will also be an email option for anyone who prefers to reach out that way. Together, we can shape the game’s future and create something truly special!”

About This Game

Dark Scottish Humor Meets Monkey Island Welcome to Amadan, a rugged, remote Scottish island serving as a hideaway for the world’s most eccentric myths and monsters. Bigfoot vs Scots is a 3D third-person open-world dark comedy that pits Scotland’s quirkiest residents against an unexpected threat: Bigfoot himself.

You play as Ann, a sharp-witted and fiery outcast who has returned to the island after being banished as a child. Armed with a legendary family sword and a wicked tongue, Ann must uncover her family's dark secrets while navigating a hostile community that greets her with suspicion and mockery. To survive, you must fight for your place in a world that treats you like a monster.

WELCOME TO THE ISLAND OF AMADAN Forget bloated hack-and-slash hitboxes; survival on Amadan requires mastering "Cultural Duels" and systemic absurdity. The humor here is harsh, unapologetic, and strictly +18.

  • Systemic Absurdity: Every action has unhinged consequences. Feed a haggis whiskey between midnight and daybreak? Congratulations, you’ve just triggered a "Wearhaggis" boss fight.

  • Bizarre Factions: Navigate a truly chaotic ecosystem. Cross paths with Kenny the Functional Drunk Haggis, survive the Rusty Badger Pub's notorious drinking challenges, avoid a coven of useless Norwegian vampires, and deal with the "Mad Biker" werewolf pack.

  • Hyper-Realistic Heritage: The absurdity plays out in a stunning, high-fidelity Unreal Engine 5 world. We’ve utilized institutionally backed photogrammetry to 3D-scan real ancient Pictish stones and gravestones, injecting authentic Scottish history directly into the environment.

THE SOUL BENEATH THE CHAOS: 7 YEARS OF GRIT Bigfoot vs Scots is the brainchild of a solo developer, and beneath the brutal banter and cryptid chaos, the narrative mirrors her own real-life experience.

Given up for adoption at birth and navigating life as a neurodivergent, Kitty knows exactly what it feels like to be an outsider searching for acceptance. Just as Ann fights to carve out her place on Amadan, Kitty poured a lifetime of navigating identity and marginalization into the game's lore. while still pushing that Edgy Scottish Humour that does not hold back.

Built over seven grueling, uninterrupted years of unpaid solo development, this game is a defiant triumph. It’s a story about finding belonging, embracing the quirks of newfound relationships, and proving that when the world treats you like a monster, you grab a sword, plant your feet, and fight back.
