What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“WTF is a multiplayer mobility shooter. The things that make or break that kind of game (gamefeel, weapon balance, how matchmaking behaves at scale, how anti-cheat holds up under real pressure) cannot be finalized in closed beta. They need a live community playing every day.

We are going Early Access because we would rather build the final version of WTF with our community than ship a "finished" game that ignores the people who already know it best.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A year give or take three months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for 1.0 to be a significantly larger and more polished game than what ships at Early Access launch. Our current plans include:

- More playable characters, weapons, maps, and game modes
- Expanded mech gameplay
- A more fleshed-out PvE experience
- Significantly revised balance across weapons, movement, and matchmaking, shaped by what the community tells us works and what doesn't

These are plans, not guarantees. Scope may shift based on community feedback, internal testing, and what we learn shipping updates during Early Access. The version of WTF that reaches 1.0 will be shaped by the people playing it, not just by our internal roadmap.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“- 8 Characters
- 3 Maps
- 8 Weapons
- 8 Abilities
- PvP modes established”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not currently planning on changing the price when we leave early access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We already are. Our closed playtest earlier this year generated nearly 1000 CCU. Their feedback and input is directly shaping what we build during Early Access. Movement polish, weapon balance, anti-cheat, and controller support are priorities because players told us they needed to be.

During Early Access, we plan to involve the community through:

- Our Discord, where most live conversation happens and where the dev team reads feedback daily. [Insert invite link]
- Steam Community posts, where we will share development updates, patch reasoning, and what we are working on next.
- Ongoing playtests and surveys when we are considering significant changes and want structured feedback before we ship them.”
