Why Early Access?

“Ghoul Fright is a physics-driven co-op survival beat 'em up, and a game like this lives or dies by how its combat feels. Melee timing, enemy AI aggression, wave pacing, talent builds, and co-op difficulty all need to be tuned against real players in real matches, not just our internal playtests. Early Access lets us do exactly that: put a fully playable game in players' hands early and shape its final balance and content together with the community.

Our goals for the Early Access period are specific:

– Tune combat, enemy AI, and wave difficulty using feedback from real co-op sessions
– Expand the game with new Ghoul types, boss encounters, maps, skills, and talents based on what players respond to most
– Harden the co-op multiplayer experience across a much wider range of connections and hardware than we can test ourselves

We are a small team of 2 people fully dedicated to this project, and we are committed to supporting it through regular updates for the entire Early Access period and through to the full 1.0 release. We will gather feedback through the Steam forums and our community channels, share development progress in devlogs, and let player input directly influence our priorities.

Early Access is not a finish line for us, it's how we make sure the finished game is the best survival fighting game it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Probably in 6 months (or less) until we've got our roadmap accomplished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“MANY differences, new maps, new Ghouls, more playable survivors, skills, more game modes, you will have plenty of different ways to play and many hours to beat the entirety of the game, we plan many cool ways for the players to play and fight the Ghouls their own way.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A fully playable experience with 4 players, is what you saw included in the demo but with more big content, new combat techniques, talent trees to customize your character, more polish, new rooms to play in the level, and your personal ranking progression, and there's a lot more coming because we'll be updating it every week. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It will be lower, we want to be fair and try having a nice affordable price for most of the players.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will have plenty of ways, mainly having easy forms to bring feedback from the most recent games, and contact quickly with us to talk about anything the player might need, we have currently a playtest where you can join our Discord and share your feedback (or if you prefer you can also join our other social media links in the about info section), also we're so aware of the videos and suggestions, we are always listening to our players!”
