What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Arcrelium has a solid core gameplay loop but I have a ways to go in figuring out where it goes next. Multiplayer especially needs real-world testing. I'm committed to iterating on balance, expanding the card and equipment pool, and building the meta-progression system based on player feedback. This is a long-term project for me and Early Access is the right way to grow it with a community behind it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Arcrelium will be in early access for roughly 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add:
- More equipment types and cards across all slots
- Boss enemies and more varied enemy AI behaviors
- A deeper meta-progression system between runs (persistent unlocks, upgrades)
- More equipment trigger effects and card synergies
- Additional visual polish and art assets
- Full Steam overlay integration (invites, rich presence)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core singleplayer gameplay is fully playable: single-player roguelite runs with scaling difficulty. Multiplayer gameplay is currently being implemented.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually raise the price as I ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to be highly involved with the community through the Steam discussion forums and Discord. Players can suggest new equipment and card ideas, report bugs, share balance feedback, and participate in playtesting new features before they go live.”

About This Game

Arcrelium is a turn-based tactical card-battler where your deck is your arsenal and the hex grid is your battlefield.

The only resource available to you is your hand size. Want to play a powerful 3-cost card? This limits your plays: if you want to cast a powerful 3-cost spell, you must discard 3 cards. Each play you make is a decision with an opportunity cost.

Key Features

Your Gear Is Your Deck: The cards in deck you use are determined by the gear you have equipped. Swap a sword for a staff and your combat cards become healing spells. As you play, you will find more equipment that you can use to change what cards you are playing with.

Hex Grid Tactics: Arcrelium is played in a hexagonal grid. Cards are used to control movement, make attacks, and anything else your character does.

Roguelite Progression: As you play, enemies will get stronger and combat encounters will become more difficult. Some upgrades you find will persist between runs.

Multiplayer: Play with others to experience competitive card-and-grid game play. Hosting or joining a lobby can support 2-4 players. You can play with your friends... or against them.

Card Economy: No two turns play the same. A maximum hand size of 5 cards, discard other cards to pay the cost of the card you want to play. Draw 2 fresh cards every turn. The discard pile reshuffles when your draw pile empties.
