Because building such a detailed world takes time, we’re choosing Early Access so you can start playing the core game now. By joining us early, you can help test new features and share your ideas, helping us shape the rest of the development process to create a game the community truly loves.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect BanHown to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months. This duration will give us enough time to implement the extensive list of features we have planned and to ensure the game is fully optimized and polished before the final release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of BanHown is planned to be much more expansive and polished. We plan to include:

Expanded World: More locations within the village and surrounding areas to deepen the 'Thai Baan' cultural immersion.

Advanced Crafting: A more complex Crafting System allowing you to use materials from foraging and farming to create unique items and tools.

Complete Storyline: Fully realized narrative journeys for each villager, expanding on their unique stories and struggles.

More 90s Activities: Additional traditional games and nostalgic experiences inspired by 1990s village life.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version features the core gameplay loop, including Farming, Foraging, Inventory Management, and the foundation of our Crafting System. Players can explore the village, interact with NPCs to build relationships, and enjoy 90s-inspired activities. While the game is fully playable and built on our custom C++/SDL2 engine, it represents the foundational stage of our vision.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. Early supporters will receive the best price as a thank you for helping us develop BanHown from the start.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that community feedback is essential for creating an authentic 'Thai Baan' experience. We plan to involve our players through:

Steam Discussion Boards: We will actively monitor and participate in community threads to gather bug reports and feature suggestions.

Regular Updates: We will provide development logs to keep the community informed about how their feedback is being implemented into the game.”

About This Game

Story

You return to your hometown to continue caring for the land your family once owned, a place that has long been left abandoned. Your goal is to restore this land while building relationships with the people in the village, bringing life and beauty back to the community once again.

Each villager has their own story and struggles to face. Helping solve their problems may be important, but sometimes simply listening can be more than enough.

🌾Farming
Growing crops is an essential part of daily life. You can sell your harvest to earn money or keep it as food to help your character survive each day.

🌿Foraging from Nature

Nature provides new resources every day. Wild plants, fruits, and forest ingredients can be gathered and used in many ways depending on how you manage them.

👗Clothing with Gameplay Effects

Clothing is not just for decoration. The outfits you wear will affect your character’s abilities, making gameplay easier or more challenging in different ways.

🎒Inventory Management
Inventory space is limited, so you will need to manage your items carefully. Finding larger bags or additional storage may become necessary as you progress.

🏪Unique Village Shops
Each shop in the village sells different items. You will need to travel, talk with villagers, and trade for the things you need.

💬Build Relationships
Form relationships with the villagers to learn about their lives, stories, and the challenges they are currently facing.

🎲90s Village Activities
The village also offers activities and items inspired by the atmosphere of the 1990s, including traditional games and a board of chance that brings a nostalgic experience.
