What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Ternion has a lot of cutscenes, dialogues, and environments; this means it requires a lot of time to develop. So, to be able to read your suggestions and criticism on the game and apply corrections to improve gameplay, has been decided to anticipate the release before the full completion of the main campaign.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately the game will be in Early Access stage two/three years, considering the time I currently have to develop it. The time required to complete the tranche of story that still haven't been published.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include the complete main campaign, improved animations, enhanced graphics, voice acting, and refined gameplay. It is also planned to give the player the freedom to return to every planet they have already visited and explore a few additional planets. However, for plot reasons, this will require the story to be completed and Desert to be stopped.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is completely playable in its current state and has all of its gameplay features already implemented. You can refer to 'About This Game' for further details. The story has not yet reached its peak; however, soon, characters and events will be explored further. Also, it won’t be possible to freely land on planets; instead, you will be forced onto a predefined path.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be offered at the lowest price during its initial Early Access phase. We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Community will have a crucial role in the development of Ternion because all suggestions will be heard, especially regarding gameplay. Hopefully, the game can become a small and humble gem for people who are passionate about the genre.”

About This Game

A Great Responsibility

In the distant future presented by Ternion, you take control of four members of the titular team of mercenaries working for the galactic organization known as the Defence and Tutelage of Abiogenesis, more commonly referred to as the DTA. Based on your decisions and relationships, the game has multiple endings.

Desert, the captain of Ternion and leader of the DTA, has been accidentally infected by a prototype symbiont designed to provide better performance in battle. The DTA discovered that the prototype's unstable nature results in the destruction and overwriting of brain cells, ultimately driving to madness those who come in direct contact with it.

Desert's state of mad delirium eventually drives him to seek the destruction of every inhabited planet in the existence. Upon discovering this plot, you, Fushiko, and Yuki, rebel against former leader, going to any and every length necessary to stop him and spare all civilizations of the Milky Way a terrible fate.

A Modern Mix of Vintage

Fight your enemies with a frenetic RPG combat system that combines the bustle of modern JRPGs with the tactical aspect of classic ones. You'll have all the time you need to carefully plan and execute your attacks with the turn-based combat system when not wandering the worlds. All the time, that is, if your enemy doesn't intervene in their own imminent demise.

A Weird Adventure

Get immersed in the course of events and explore relationships with your various teammates while keeping yourself focused on your true mission: saving the life in the universe.

In Ternion, you will:

  • Fly a spaceship through the Milky Way.

  • Solve logic puzzles & mini-games.

  • Plan an attack on the Ternion spaceship.

  • Dynamically alter the story flow through character relationships.

  • Learn about the civilizations you visit.

  • Have the possibility of unlocking an "open map" experience before the game's end.

Sole Development

Unfortunately, Ternion is a zero-budget passion project created by a single developer; if circumstances allow for it, the project will expand by gaining additional features and side missions, but right now that comes secondarily to the game's overall completion.
