Why Early Access?

“Early Access is a great fit for our project, Rewilders: The Lost Spring, because it lets us grow the game together with our community as we continue to expand its scope.

At its core, Rewilders is built around a replayable roguelite loop with meaningful depth and it will come to life as one experiments and plays with the game’s systems in different ways. By joining us in Early Access, players will help shape that experience through their valuable feedback.

We’re especially looking for your input on combat feel, difficulty, the balance between Abi and Hântu, run pacing, progression systems (rewilding the environment, different combat and character paths, and upgrading up your base), and how exploration feels within an our open world roguelite structure.

Our goal is to deliver a strong, fun core loop from the start, then continue improving and expanding the game alongside our community. We'll be adding new biomes, bigger boss encounters, new traversal tools, narrative-driven quests, and full cinematics as we move toward full release.

We can't wait to continue our journey with our fans!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our target is to keep Rewilders in Early Access for approximately 28 weeks, from September 2025 to March 2026, giving us ample time to gather and respond to player feedback while expanding our planned content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include:

- More world content and progression depth: additional biomes and their unique enemies, hazards, rewards, and exploration gates via traversal tools (Metroidvania layer).

- More Tormented boss fights and story beats, leading to the Meadow Temple and the final boss (the Pesticide), plus the full narrative conclusion.

- A broader roster of Hântu, more upgrades, more greenhouse plants/buffs, and a more complete Kuxaän encyclopedia progression.

- More quests and long-term progression goals

- Additional polish and visual/auditory feedback

- Tutorials, onboarding and narrative (cutscenes and cinematics)

- Controller support and mapping for accessibility

- Performance optimization & bug resolutions (which will also be updated throughout the duration between EA and full release)

- Localization for different audiences

- Steam's Achievement system

- Feedback integration from our players and fans: combat feel, any UX pain points, tuning pass on upgrade and balancing”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At Early Access launch, players will be able to purchase and experience a complete “core loop” version of the game, while also having the opportunity to engage early, provide feedback, and connect more closely with the development team to help shape the game ahead of its full release.

The included contents are:

- The main hub (Ada’s boat/ship) for preparation, progression, and build planning (greenhouse, upgrades, selecting a starting Hântu).

- Repeated runs into Mainland with exploration, combat encounters, Springs (combat challenges with rewards), gongs (unlocking permanent combat abilities), and collection/progression systems (nectar, seeds, fruits, Memory Fragments, etc.).

- One Tormented boss encounter and the connected quest steps (prepare, defeat, earn the reward, and progress).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We haven't fully evaluated our pricing yet. However, it is our intention to keep the price consistent with the market. We plan to have discounts offered for our Early Access players and some perks that will be surprises! Players who join us early play a key role in supporting and shaping the game, and we’re committed to keeping them closely involved throughout our development.

We will provide regular updates and transparent communication through our Steam page, and ensure Early Access players receive all new features, content, and improvements as we progress toward the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe the best games are forged alongside their players. Our community team engages daily via Discord and the Steam Hub to bridge the gap between player experience and development. While we maintain a consistent presence during the week, we’re no strangers to weekend interactions to catch those peak playtime discussions.

Our process is built on transparency and active iteration:

- Structured Feedback: We use Steam Discussions for bug reports and balance suggestions, while Discord serves as our hub for faster iteration, community polls, and organized playtesting groups.

- Surveys: For critical adjustments such as boss tuning, Hântu balancing, and difficulty curves, we will share player surveys to ensure our changes align with the community's experience.

- Clear Communication: We provide regular updates with patch notes and a living roadmap, detailing what we’ve shipped, what’s in the works, and what’s currently in testing.

We will also share Dev Logs and behind-the-scenes content to show how player suggestions are being actioned. Our goal is to ensure that when the final version of the game launches, our community can see their fingerprints on the world we’ve built together.”

Explore corrupted biomes and face twisted creatures born from a failed society. Each run drops you into a dynamic open world filled with an array of hostile enemies. Use metroidvania-inspired traversal abilities like a glider, grappling hook, or wall-running to reach and explore new biomes.

Restore ecosystems through action: rewild areas, reactivate Springs, and bring life back one biome at a time. As the world heals, its original inhabitants return—the Hântu, reawakened native creatures once driven to extinction.
