Why Early Access?

“Early Access gives us a unique opportunity to refine our development process and incorporate your vital feedback, as we work toward version 1.0. As with the pre-release public builds of our last few games, Stronghold 4 will be developed alongside the Stronghold community and shaped using your input.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to remain in Early Access for around six months, however this could change. Our priority will remain responding to player feedback and delivering our remaining major game modes and other content. These include an economic campaign, cooperative skirmish trail and multiplayer mode.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The 1.0 version of Stronghold 4 will deliver additional gameplay content and features such as online multiplayer, a co-op skirmish trail and an economic campaign, as well as a wealth of updates and fixes forged with player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Stronghold 4 showcases the core content, foundations and mechanics needed for a fulfilling modern Stronghold game experience. This includes a prequel story campaign of 22 missions, full skirmish mode with 8 unique CPU opponents, a Free Build sandbox mode and a curated skirmish trail of bespoke scenarios.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As new features and content are added we may consider raising the price of the game during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have an active community on Discord who provide suggestions and communicate with us regularly about our games, as well as an in-game feedback form which we find very useful. Furthermore, we keep a close eye on community sentiment across Steam discussions, our social channels and bug reports made in-game or through our website. We are committed to transparency on game updates via our news posts, video content and patch notes.”
