In a time long forgotten, when the world was still young and newly sung into form by the Gods, humanity lived gently within nature’s pulse. They moved with the tides, the seasons, and the shifting winds — yet unlike the other creatures, they were fragile. They had no claws for defence, no fur for warmth, no wings to escape the storm.

Seeing this, the Gods gathered with the spirits of ocean and mountain, plant and animal, and forged a sacred pact. Each being would offer humanity a gift — warmth, shelter, food, guidance — and in return humans would honour and protect the balance of the world. Thus the first totems were given, and the bond between humans and the living land was set.
