What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are just two developers working on the game - both currently working 9-5 jobs as civil engineers! Having initially devoted most (if not all) of our free time over three years developing "The Enjenir", releasing into Early Access has allowed us to dedicate more of our time directly on development and speed up the process of adding all of the awesome features and mechanics we have planned for the game!

We feel "The Enjenir" is the perfect type of game for Early Access, and benefits massively from continuous community engagement throughout the development process and helps guide our focus on the important features requested!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The Enjenir was released in December 2023, and still receives continuous updates, patches, improvements, new content etc. which is exactly what Early Access is all about!

At Early Access launch, we had a clear vision of what we wanted from a 1.0 fully feature-complete release of The Enjenir will look like, which we had initially estimated 12 months to complete. Well, 12 months passed and we had already gone far above and beyond that initial 1.0 scope! With the addition of a new save system, water/buoyancy physics, actual aerodynamics, an overhaul to the games lighting, Steam Workshop support, lots of brand new levels, new mechanics, components optimisations and so so much more! The game is basically better than the target scope we had planned for the original 1.0 release!

Long story short - we absolutely love developing The Enjenir, and it's been a joy to work on and add all these cool new mechanics. The game is basically our baby! As we continue to add new content and improve the game, we are still making sales, which helps us continue that development and ensure we make the game the best it can be.

But when is the 1.0 release? Well, as much as we'd love to - it's not realistic to think we can indefinitely work on The Enjenir forever (unfortunately!)

We have not decided on a precise date for that yet, but that day is approaching. Once we have decided the 1.0 release date, we'll be sure to share that info with you guys on here in on the community forum / discord / tiktok etc. when the time comes.

Until then, feel free to jump right in and enjoy the game while it's in Early Access!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our main goal during Early Access development, is to ensure that for the full 1.0 release, all gameplay mechanics are as fully fleshed out as they can be, controls are improved and optimised based on player feedback, and we add as many of the top requested features as we can!

And so far, Early Access has been amazing success for The Enjenir. The game is almost unrecognisable compared to its initial launch state - it is so much better now!

As we approach the 1.0 release, there are a number of key elements that we would like to ensure are sorted properly before 1.0 launch. Among them are lots of new specific mechanics (like a move/copy tool which is actively being worked on), as well as proper localisation. Localisation is a top priority, as we are aiming to support the game in a of different languages and will be adding more languages throughout Early Access. Another priority we want to sort prior to launch is having controller and Steam Deck support. There's also stabilisation and performance targets we'd like to sort out for the 1.0 launch too.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in a fantastic state! It has been in Early Access since December 2023, and has received a total of 34 updates - many of them major updates with game changing elements to them. The game has been significantly fleshed out since it's initial launch, and today is a perfect time to jump in and explore the world of The Enjenir!

The demo is still freely available right now, which provides you with 15 missions spread across two levels, as well as a comprehensive tutorial. Here you will be able to effectively play the game in its current state, albeit with limited and restricted features and levels. The demo also doesn't feature all the newest improvements of the latest build of the game, but it is a good indication of what the game is! ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Players opting to purchase during Early Access will benefit from a discount compared to the full release price, as well as a further discount if bought during the launch period.

Although we don’t have concrete plans in place regarding the full 1.0 launch price, we do believe in rewarding early adopters who have helped us shape the game during Early Access. We expect the 1.0 build will include a wide number of new features, content, missions etc - which will more than justify the difference in price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Due to the sandbox nature of the game, community engagement throughout the development process is a key objective for us. We will be gathering feedback and engaging with players through Steam and our , and are more than happy to discuss upcoming features and potential ideas to implement in the game directly with players.

We also plan on running different types of events, as well as community-driven polls to help us decide what features we should look at developing and prioritise.”
