“I wanted to make the game accessible to players during development to develop The Hideaway in the image of its community. Player feedback is essential as players always come up with the best ideas on how to make games better, and I hope that with your help we will be able to make The Hideaway the most fun, enjoyable and beautiful experience possible.

I also plan to add many new exotic environments and stories, a multiplayer co-op mode where you can explore and survive the different environments of The Hideaway with friends, for which we will have to pay servers.”

“The Hideaway should be in Early Access at least for two more years to come. Enough time for me to properly implement all the features I've planned to add to the game and correct all issues players will face when playing The Hideaway.”

“I am planning to add many new in-game environments and game mechanics, but also to implement properly new animals, a more detailed story about the main character and also a multiplayer cooperation mode for the final version of The Hideaway.”

The Hideaway is an exploration and discovery low-poly game with realistic survival game mechanics.



Year 3515 in Earth's referential, all humans have left the earth hundreds a few years ago.
You're a member of an exploration team and part of the last humans there are still in the galaxy, researching about the lasts traces of humans on other planets including the Earth. Due to a lack of maintenance and strange magnetic events, your ship on-board computer failed. Forced to land, you end up alone in various harsh environments. From there you will now have to survive, and use what's left of your instincts and abilities to understand your needs and your environment.

Gameplay



In The Hideaway Exploration mode, you'll be able to explore and discover many different biomes and microenvironments, from fauna to flora, with realistic meteorological events, sounds and much more, in a calm and soothing experience. Trying to find a way to extract from your environment

However, if you play in Survival mode, nature will exercise its rights over you and may become either your home or your worst enemy. In the survival mode of The Hideaway, diseases, global energy, hunger, thirst, body temperature, exterior temperature, blood pressure and volume, poisonous plants, and much more will make the wilderness a harsh place,

Features



  • Explore : Explore freely different beautiful and lively environments, from small forest biomes to large islands and deserts

  • Observe : Many sorts of animals will be surrounding you during your journey from hares to deers

  • Experience : Mother nature can sometimes be really impressive and beautiful, from tornadoes to snow storms to rarer events like eclipses, full moons, northern lights, starry nights and many more.. Experience pure nature

  • Survive : You will have to explore the wild in order to find food, water and avoid poisonous plants in order to survive

  • Permanent Death : Your only way to return home is to survive, if you're dead, you've failed. No question of holding your hand

  • Face the elements : Body statistics are realistically simulated in The Hideaway. In survival mode, you will have to regularly check your vital signs, from blood volume to body temperature, energy... in order to stay alive

  • Build : You will be able to build many types of wooden structures with logs / wood pieces that you will need to find in your environment

  • Customize : You will also have access to a relatively large choice of furniture to completely customize and personalize your buildings

  • Listen to nature : Simply listening at the different atmospheres, music, water drops, rivers, wind, seas, weather events and the different animals sounds will make you feel the environment like never before

  • Minimalistic UI : The UI Is very minimalistic, it's only here to tell you what you need to know and can be completely hidden by pressing the Tab key by default

  • Procedural worlds : Each game will be different. As the weather and sky events are procedurally generated, animal proportions and pickable wood quantities are evolving perpetually, a game can easily turn from a walk in the forest to a survival challenge.
