A TRUE ROLEPLAY EXPERIENCE (RPMMO)

AEGIS Kingdoms is a living, breathing world built for roleplayers by veteran roleplayers. Every choice, action, and interaction unfolds through in-character storytelling, collaborative adventures, and player-driven narratives. Here, your character’s journey is defined by your decisions, alliances, and roleplay—not button mashing, zone grinding, dailies or anything like that. There are no traditional combat mechanics.

GAME MASTERS AND DICE

Game Masters (GMs) guide the world, narrate on behalf of NPCs, and oversee situations including combat. They lead monthly episodic events for players to participate in. Dice rolling is used to resolve outcomes in a fair and immersive way, ensuring your choices carry meaningful consequences in the story.

EPISODIC CONTENT

Content (from quests and adventures, to new monsters, mounts and more) is released episodically. These can range from time-limited journeys, to entirely new continents. Temporary political alliances, to major, terrain changing updates. The episodic release cycle allows for fresh, intriguing and new content available for both veteran and fresh characters.

DEEP LORE, EASY TO LEARN

AEGIS Kingdoms is built in such a way that requires a minimal amount of lore for you to know before you login for the first time. We've created a "getting started" video to help you learn the important bits, as well as providing a wiki with literally everything else for viewing at your own pleasure. We are also active within the community to answer questions also.

We encourage players to learn the lore as they go through roleplay. This reduces the opportunities for metagaming (accidental and purposeful), allowing you and your character to learn on the go. We believe this creates much more authentic and well-rounded characters, providing a more immersive experience for everyone.

COMMUNITY AND SAFETY

There is absolutely no tolerance for toxicity, cliques, or unwanted behaviour. We've been there, done that, got the t-shirt. For too long this type of behaviour has plagued roleplaying environments, spoiling it for everyone. So we're taking a stand.

AEGIS Kingdoms fosters a wholesome, creative, and supportive environment, encouraging collaboration, storytelling, and fun for all players. Our rules strictly prohibit toxic, clique behaviour, which will result in account termination if broken.

ACCESS AND MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS

The game is free to download on Steam, but requires an affordable monthly subscription to participate. Account registration is manually approved by our staff to safeguard the community from disruptive players and ensure that every participant can enjoy a high-quality roleplay experience. Approval is required before a game account & subscription can be purchased.

NOTE: There are NO other types of "micotransactions" present in AEGIS Kingdoms. There is no premium currency, ability to buy land or characters (ever, never ever), lootboxes (ew) or anything like that. Your membership is part of supporting the game alongside everyone else who enjoys AEGIS Kingdoms.

A free trial allows you to play AEGIS Kingdoms without a paid subscription. It’s a non-restrictive way for you to test whether AEGIS Kingdoms is right for you, without having to pay any money.

All features are available for ‘Free Trial Accounts’. There are no restrictions. We want you to experience AEGIS Kingdoms without restraint and at your own pace. Likewise trial accounts are not treated any differently during events, sessions or the likes.

Once your trial expires, access to AEGIS Kingdoms will be restricted until a paid subscription is purchased. You will not be able to login until after this occurs. You will be able to continue playing your character once your sub is active.

WORLD FEATURES

• Fully text-based roleplay progression with structured, clear progression pathways to avoid confusion. For too long 'progression' has been a hot topic. Now you know the clear milestones for advancing your character and gaining recognition.

• Story-driven adventures and 'quests' managed by Game Masters who narrate and control the world around you, as well as spontaneous roleplay and adventure across the lands.

• Always in-character world with designated hubs, to encourage characters to meet, but we encourage you to go off and have your own adventures.

• Player-driven economy and trade to give you autonomy over your character's finances in a managed and fair way. (Yes we have made in-game features and wiki pages for item prices also).

• Typical social systems found in MMOs such as friends lists, private messaging and forums for managing character applications.

• Exploration and discovery of hidden locations. Some things have been left hidden for you to discover, and we encourage you to let others discover it organically also.

STORY PREMISE

The Realm of Men: Sor'res, has been scorched by the murder of King Arthur at the hands of his best friend Lancelot: the Betrayer. Usurping the Pendragon Throne which rightfully belongs to Arthur's young son Percival, Constantine, Arthur's half brother, has waged a 25 year war forcefully amalgamating the human kingdoms into his Grand Empire.

Fuelled by Dark Aether granted to him by a malefic force, Constantine has set his sights on the forgotten continent of Ophelia, rumoured to have an artifact so powerful that it prevents the evil force he serves from leave her infernal dimension. Guided by a clandestine cult who worships this malefic force, Constantine seeks to find the artifact so he can release his master from her prison and usher in an age of darkness.

Having mobilised the Grand Imperial Navy, many of the waters have been blockaded, especially near Ophelia. The Navy have been instructed to hunt any and every vessel that dared to sail on the sea, with limited trade routes allowed for the independent Southern Kingdoms.

Characters start off at the beginning of their journey by attending one of the Grand Empire's "Imperial Colleges of Learning" where they will learn about the world, the customs of the Empire and after graduating, the opportunity to join a Guild & conduct contracts with one of the five major factions.
