About This Game

Port Control is a game about building and running a sea port. On the water you lay out quays, berths and the lanes ships follow. On land you equip the berths with cranes, build warehouses and lay roads for the trucks that carry the cargo in and out. You start with a small harbour and a few ships and grow it into a big, busy port.

At first you do everything by hand. You take contracts and plan each ship's call into your day. You tell each ship where to go, send the pilot, call the tugs and find a free berth. Then you decide where the cargo goes: which warehouses the cranes work from and which routes the trucks drive. Ships can't stop, and big ships can come in only at high tide, so you have to plan ahead.

When the port gets too busy, you automate. Every job you do by hand has an automatic counterpart, so you can run the port yourself or build it up until the traffic runs on its own. Delivered cargo earns experience and research points.

Features:

- Build quays, berths, cranes, warehouses and roads, and grow the port as traffic grows

- Give orders by hand, then automate every step

- Manage ships, berths, pilots, tugs, cranes and trucks

- Decide where the cargo goes, from ship to warehouse to road and back

- Ships can't stop, so conflicts must be seen early

- Tides decide when big ships can enter

- Take contracts and plan each day's calls, plus random traffic

- VHF radio log of everything in the port

- Night control-room look
