About This Game

Mebula is a fantastical world where players can catch monsters called “Mebulys”, train them and compete against each other. Experience a journey into foreign lands and fight against your friends, NPCs or defeat the elite of the Mebula world in glorious battles. Explore this world and master many quests. Train your Mebulys and let them become great heroes. Play your game as you want it and get great rewards.

Mebula is home to 101 Mebulys (from little starters like Sproutly, Flambini and Drizzlet all the way to legends like Mebu). Each one has a number, one or two types and its own stats.

Welcome to Mebula! You begin your adventure as a young trainer on the starting islands, with only your first Mebuly at your side. Your big goal: catch, train and evolve Mebulys, defeat the masters of the world and collect all 101 Mebulys step by step.

To start you can choose between the plant Mebuly "Sproutly", the fire Mebuly "Flambini" and the water Mebuly "Drizzlet". Then you can start! Master Shin, a former Grand Master of Mebula, will assist you during your first steps. You will have to fight a fight with his student Daisuke and have to explore a few places on the starting islands and then fight a fight against the former champion himself.

Design your look: male or female, plus skin, hair, eyes, mouth, extras, beard and clothing, each with colours. When you create your character, you can choose from the free parts. Choose one of the five tribes: Monks, Warriors, Timehunters, Windwalkers or Shamans.

New hairstyle, different jacket, different gender: the character editor lets you change your look at any time.

Skin, hair, eyes, mouth, extras and beard, plus shirt, jacket, skirt, socks, pants and shoes. For many parts, you can also pick a colour. You can also switch between male and female.

The three form a classic triangle: leaf attacks work well against water, water attacks work well against fire and fire attacks work well against leaf. Against Mebulys of its own type, on the other hand, each starter achieves little.

  • Sproutly: Sproutly is one of the three starter Mebulys: a small fighter of the leaf type that hits much harder than it looks.
  • Flambini: Flambini is the starter Mebuly of the fire type: small, hot-headed and hard-hitting. An ideal partner against opponents of the leaf type.
  • Drizzlet: Drizzlet is the starter Mebuly of the water type: a tough little droplet with a strong defense that gives fire and rock opponents a hard time.

Once it reaches a certain level, your Mebuly can transform into a new form. Many Mebulys evolve: Sproutly becomes Saplion and later Timberton.

  • Larvalite: Larvalite is a hungry little caterpillar of the leaf type that spins a cocoon after just a few levels: the start of a rapid transformation.
  • Flitterly: Fast, colorful and dangerous: Flitterly combines the leaf and flight types and is the final form of Larvalite, a strong pick for your early team.

Enter the world, fight your challengers and become stronger. The goal is not only to start with your Start-Mebuly and your first friend "Sparokeet". You need new team mates! Look for special places and look for other Mebulys there. A special volcanic crater or a hidden coastal section could harbor them! Train with your team to make it stronger, teach them new attacks, and then travel more areas with other Mebulys.

Mebula is made up of 29 areas: small islands, long routes, four towns, dense forests, caves and a wide desert. The farther you travel from the start, the stronger the wild Mebulys and trainers get, from level 1 on the starting island to over level 40 in the Electric Cave.

On foot, by balloon, chakra or teleporter: this is how you get around Mebula and how new paths open up along the way.

  • Volcano Island: An active volcano bubbles beneath this island. Researchers study its cave and the fire and rock Mebulys that live there.
  • Illusion Forest Entrance: Violet trees and glowing lanterns: at the edge of the mysterious Illusion Forest, a very special Mebuly is waiting.
  • Root Grove: The forest town in the middle of the Green Forest: Root Grove has healers, a bank and merchants, plus Kohana, the second stop on your master journey.

West of Central Island, the path leads down into the Volcano Cave with its glowing lava lake. Researchers are hard at work everywhere. The trainers here are level 3 to 7. A healer looks after you right inside the volcano.

Quests are tasks given to you by the people of Mebula. They guide you through the world, tell the story of Mebula and reward you with silver, items, reputation and sometimes even a rare Mebuly. If you do quests regularly, you progress much faster than by fighting alone.

Characters with a task for you carry a symbol above their head and show up as yellow dots on the minimap.

  • Route 9: Shipwreck: A stranded ghost ship full of undead pirates: on Route 9 the captain awaits, along with a special reward for brave trainers.
  • Dusty Town: The big city in the desert: a colosseum, a shopping mall and the best selection of potions and crystals in all of Mebula.
  • Forest Maze: Twisting paths, a lake and over a hundred trainers: it's easy to get lost in the Forest Maze, and you may come face to face with a legendary leaf snake.

Route 9 runs along the coast from Wave Crest to Route 11: Electric Cave Entrance. On the way lies the Ghost Wreck, an ancient stranded ship with cabins and a deck. The trainers are level 33 to 40, and there is no healer.

You will not stumble upon some of the rarest Mebulys by chance. They wait at the end of a quest chain.

  • Psycholone (level 20) on Route 3: a researcher needs parts from the merchants at the jetty to summon the wind Mebuly. The merchants are not always there.
  • Champkin (level 25) at Spider Lake: after a huge pile of apples on Route 4, it gets into trouble. Free it from the spider web.
  • Biothon (level 30) in the Forest Maze. The ingredients: Energy of the forest, Greenly Crystal and Mystic Elixir of Life.
  • Igneothon (level 35) on the desert beach: defeat lots of Pyramini and Pyramodo. You also need: Energy of the desert and Petrified crystal.
  • Griffatron (level 50) in the Pyramid: collect ancient stone tablets to awaken the guardian. The item is called stone plate in the game.

Two rare Mebulys join you without any crystal at all: defeat the captain in the ghost wreck and Serthon joins your team. And for a huge amount of apples and Wave Crest water, a daily quest on Route 4 lures a Champkin straight into your team.

Battles are the heart of Mebula. You fight wild Mebulys you meet on your travels, trainers, the masters and, in PvP, other players. Your team always sends one Mebuly onto the field at a time: first the one highest up in your team order that is not knocked out.

Trainers are characters with their own team of Mebulys: hikers, vacationers, photographers, researchers, teenagers, scouts, archeologists and many more. You meet them on almost every route and in many places, from the first islands all the way into the Electric Cave.

You catch wild Mebulys with a crystal. The game calls this sealing.

Weaken the wild Mebuly with your attacks, but do not knock it out. A defeated Mebuly can no longer be sealed. Open your items during the battle, pick a crystal and throw it at the wild Mebuly.

There is also an element crystal for each of the twelve types, which seals Mebulys of that type with a higher probability. For Mebulys with two types, it is enough if one of them matches.

Mebula has no fixed rounds. Every action takes time: after an attack, your Mebuly has to wait until it can act again. How long is shown by each attack's “Time” value. At the top of the battle window, every Mebuly's waiting time counts down next to a clock icon. Whoever reaches zero first gets to act. So never compare attacks by damage alone: two quick attacks can do more than one slow one.

Wild Mebulys live almost everywhere out in the world: on the islands, along the routes, in the forest, in caves and in the desert. While you walk, one can appear at any moment, and a battle starts right away. In the towns Root Grove, Wave Crest and Dusty Town you are safe from them.

Every Mebuly and every attack has a type. When an attack hits a Mebuly, the two types decide how well it works. Know your types and you will win fights that raw power alone could never win.

There are twelve types: fire, leaf, electric, flight, normal, psy, ghost, earth, rock, water, ice and machine. A Mebuly's type decides which attacks hurt it the most and which barely scratch it. The type chart shows who beats whom.

Sometimes several wild Mebulys attack at once. Then you choose your target by clicking on the opponent.

When several Mebulys are fighting, a timeline shows everyone in turn order: your Mebuly in blue, allies in green, opponents in red.

After a win, every Mebuly that faced the opponents in battle gets experience. Trainers also pay you silver, and wild Mebulys sometimes drop items.

Anyone who wants to become a great Mebuly trainer has to face the masters. Each master fights with a team of strong Mebulys built around one type. Beat a master and you earn their medal. Your profile has room for nine medals. Five masters can be challenged right now.

Master Nibori is the first master on your journey. He waits on his hill in Meadow Docks and swears by wind Mebulys.

Kohana is the second master. In Root Grove, the town deep in the forest, she shows you the power of nature.

Master Nami awaits you on her little island in Wave Crest. Her water Mebulys are a real test for any team.

Master Ishu is the leader of the Tribe of Warriors. Deep inside the Pyramid, his furious rock and earth Mebulys await you.

Master Dschibait, the master of lightning, runs his research in the Electric Cave. If you want to challenge him, you first have to help him with an emergency.

Bring a full team of five Mebulys. One strong Mebuly on its own will not beat a master. Train several of them evenly instead.

Test yourself against other trainers: practice battles, group matches and the “Invincible” mode with its ranking.

In the PvP window (key P or the quick menu), you battle other players or the AI. All PvP battles are risk-free trials of strength: your team starts with full health and full energy, and after the battle everything is back the way it was. In return, you get no experience and no silver.

  • Own match: Set up your own battle: against the AI in three difficulty levels or against another player, with your own team or a random one.
  • Random match: Join the queue: in a random match, the game finds you a human opponent, and both sides fight with random teams.
  • Groups: A group connects you with other players while you are out and about together.
  • Invincible: The endless battle: how many opponents can your team beat? One point per win, level classes from 20 to 50, rankings for your world and worldwide.

Orders are the guilds of Mebula: found your own or join one, with ranks, rights, order chat, order energy and spells.

  • Pantheratron: Pantheratron is a robot panther of the machine type that has gone haywire, with one of the strongest attacks in the entire game.
  • Pyrony: Pyrony is a fiery pony of the fire type that loves galloping through the forests and grows into a proud phantom steed.
  • Mechalodon: At the end of the R-bot line stands Mechalodon: a machine attack machine with the second-highest attack of all Mebulys.
  • Fangalor: Nothing good is left in Fangalor: the final form of Foofu is a psy powerhouse with a high crit chance.
  • Cerburnus: No Mebuly has more attack than Cerburnus: the final form of Firedo is a fiery powerhouse that goes all in on offense.

In battle, Mebulys gain experience and level up, all the way to level 50. Every level raises all stats. After that, experience turns into aura experience, which unlocks auras.

Normal? Far from it! Serthon is fast, aggressive and evolves into one of nine serpents from level 30. Chance decides which one.

Serthon is a fast attacker with a high crit chance. Its level attacks are all of the normal type. With bite and bodycheck it deals solid damage. That leaves it powerless against ghost Mebulys, though, as they are immune to normal attacks. Its Ki values (Ki is shown as “AI” in the game) and defense are only average.

  • Igneothon: The stone serpent: Igneothon (rock and earth) is a bulwark with a strong attack and immune to electric attacks.
  • Liquithon: The water serpent: Liquithon chose the power of water and is a fast all-rounder that hits hard in every way.
  • Jolthon: The lightning serpent: Jolthon chose electricity and is the second-fastest Mebuly in the whole game.

The disturbances of the Mebus, the most mythical of all Mebulys, are already visible. The large cloud serpent was very rarely seen by humans. But where it appears, there are great storms. Will the Mebu soon show up above Mebula?

According to legend, Mebu even created the tribe of the Windwalkers.

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Mebula has been around for a long time: we have been developing the game since 2013, and it launched in 2017. The Mebulys and the game world are carefully drawn by hand. Today we use generative AI to translate the game texts into other languages. AI tools also help us write, revise and proofread texts for the game, the store page and announcements. The short intro and ending of our trailer (clouds, motion and sound) were created with AI. All content was selected, edited and reviewed by our team.
