What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“User feedback will be crucial to getting the game in the best state it can be. As developer it can be very difficult to judge just how difficult or frightening your game might be. Involving the community at every step of development will help tremendously.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early access is expected to last for a year, but this timeline is flexible and if it needs longer before it has an acceptable level of content, than so it shall be.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access game will focus on testing gameplay elements and core features. As a result most of the Early Access period will play out over just 1 or 2 different levels. The full release will include more levels, aiming for 4 or 5.
Large features such VR and Player Progression will all be present in the Early Access at some stage.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is in the early stages of development and at this point is very much focused on core gameplay elements.
  • A large part of the first level has been build.
  • The AI is in an acceptable state, it's able to search for and find the player, but there's still lots to do before it can be called "smart".
  • Work on Multiplayer has begun and this is currently a large focus.
  • The game is integrated in to Steam, making use of it's lobbies, chat, and voice chat.
  • VR has been tested and proven to work in concept, but will need lots more work before it's ready. VR is not a priority at the moment and will follow in a later stage of the early access period, but gameplay is build with VR controls in mind.

This is all the result of roughly 6 months of development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The base game will be free and will remain free during and after Early access. At some point there might be additional content that will be sold as DLC. Currently the plan is for there to be extra maps or levels that might need to be purchased. Only the host of the game will need to purchase the DLC. Any other players joining the game can join for free, possibly with some limits.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Most of the communication will done via Discord. Here I hope collect feedback through various stages of development. I hope to organize testing rounds so I can get very direct feedback while playing the game together with the community.”

About This Game

In space no one can hear you scream... except for your friends.

One Way Trip is an atmospheric sci-fi horror game that focuses on stealth. With up to 4 players you will be tasked with escaping some sort of otherworldly being. Fighting back is useless, your own chance is to hide. Make your way through various maps, complete objectives, and escape whatever it is that is hunting for you.

They are following you, sensing you, learning from your behaviour...

You face just one threat at a time, but they are constantly on the prowl. The AI learns from your behaviour as it tries to find you. As you spend more time in each level they gets more aggressive, smarter, and more determined to find you. They can see you, hear you, and perhaps even smell you...

There's just one objective; Survive...

Each scenario has the same primary objective; make it out alive. But spread throughout the map are many optional objectives. Completing each objective will earn you more points, but with each completion the enemy becomes more aware of your presence. The more you do, the higher the stakes get. How far are you daring to go?

An atmosphere to die for...

The game takes place in the distant future. Humanity has spread throughout the Milky Way, alien life is yet to be discovered. You are part of a Research Station orbiting a distant planet. You wake up in the middle of your sleep to the sound of screams, followed by nothing but silence. You and your team decide to investigate...

The atmosphere is built to be terrifying. From large open areas to claustrophobic smoke filled pathways, every part of the map is built to make you want to turn back. But will you?
