What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Fidget Spinner RPG has been a pet project of mine for awhile now, and it's evolved a lot throughout this process... It has been through several prototype phases, redesigns, and I've made (and learned from!) plenty of mistakes along the way.
I've iterated on this project with a few close friends, and I'm finally at a point where I think the game will benefit from being put in front of a wider audience.

My primary goal for early access is to get valuable feedback, to shape the game into the best it can be!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm anticipating Early Access to last for roughly 6 months to a year. That puts the full release of the v1.0 game at roughly between November 2022 to May 2023. This time frame depends mostly on the scope and quantity of player feedback received.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version should have, in general, more content to progress through: More items to craft, skills to train, abilities to cast, talents to unlock, etc.

As well as that, here's a few examples of new content that is currently being considered/designed:
  • A Prestige system: Reset your progress and gain additional talent points to spend in a special prestige talent tree for additional permanent bonuses on your consecutive playthroughs.
  • A passive progression system: Hire NPCs to perform tasks for you passively over time. When you stop playing the game for awhile and come back, your NPC henchmen will have completed some tasks for you.
  • Spell/Ability Crafting and Enchanting: Combine various effects into your own custom spell, which can then be placed on your action bar like any other ability, or enchanted onto an item to be cast as a passive effect from that item.
  • Salvage/Scrap System: Break down items you craft to recover some of the materials used to craft the item.
  • Reforging: Tweak the stats of an item... Reroll unwanted stats in order to optimize your equipment, or add augmentations that provide additional effects.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the core of the game there are currently 8 skill lines to train: Competency, Spinning, Mining, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Haggling, Alchemy, and Engineering. Each skill has it's own talent tree and associated abilities with various inter-connected effects, and every skill has it's own place and purpose in the game's primary goal: spinning the fidget spinner faster.

I'd say at the moment there's at least a solid 3 or 4 hours or so worth of content to progress through in the game currently... This also heavily depends on the type of player too (some players in the closed beta were still content to continue playing well after 20+ hours).

With that said... The game is, of course, incomplete - if you're looking for a complete, polished experience you will probably be disappointed if you pick up the game in this stage of development... But if you want to help contribute to my goal of making this game as good as it can be, then early access is for you.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, I will start out with a low price and increase it significantly as certain development milestones are reached. I feel like this is the most honest way to ensure that players willing to pick up the game earlier in development get the best value for their money.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be closely monitoring the game's Steam community pages, as well as an official Discord server for the game. I will try to be as transparent as possible about new features in development, and to involve the community in this design process wherever I can.

I will primarily be looking for feature suggestions and bug reports, but any general feedback will be more than welcome. If the community comes to a consensus on any particular topic, I'll do my best to address it.”

About This Game

Spin, craft, upgrade, and violate the laws of physics.
Fidget spinner RPG is all about spinning a fidget spinner to absurd RPMs.
Along your journey you will level up skills such as mining, blacksmithing, and alchemy.
You will craft equipment to augment your stats and enhance your power.
You will achieve tasks & advance through a nonlinear progression.
You will buy and sell items of all sorts to NPC merchants.
And you will unlock talents that increase your capabilities in exciting ways.
All in the pursuit of more RPM.

Skills, Abilities, and Talents
Level up 7 different skills: Competency, Spinning, Mining, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Haggling, and Alchemy.
Each skill provides it's own perks: base stat bonuses, unlocked abilities & features, and a passive talent tree to spend points in.

Items, Crafting, and Stats
Items can have nearly any combination of the game's main 13 stats, as well as unique effects that shake up the way you play.

In your pursuit of better gear you'll find that every item you craft increases your crafting proficiency for that item, making subsequent crafts of the same item roll better stats.

Insane Speed
Progress through over the top effects as you reach higher and higher RPM.
