About This Game

We don't brake for goons.

GoonCrusher is a top-down arcade driving game. Goons are on the road. You have a car. Hit them fast enough and they go flat; hit them too slow and you have a goon on your hood and a dent to show for it.

Crush goons, pick up powerups, win the run, and upgrade your garage and gameplay options. Six unique regions each feature their own unique goons, props, and level design.

One road map, 30 stops

• Six regions, from quiet farm lanes to a city that has given up and a factory that is mostly on fire.
  
• Hit a fence fast enough and it stops being a fence.
  
• Knock a log pile loose and watch it do your job for you. The beehives and flood gates are also on the payroll.
  
• The dark is where a good run gets interesting. Something is out there past the headlights, and it's coming this way.

19 ways to ruin a car

• Crusher: you against the crowd. Outlast the clock, run for the gas station on fumes, hold the pumps, or just keep driving while it all gets worse.
  
• Trial: no goons, just the course and the clock. Rally stages, flat-out runs, hot laps, drift trials, cone courses and smash runs.
  
• The Goon Cup: five rivals who want the same road you do. Races, pursuits, knockouts, and a demolition derby that goes about how you'd expect.
  
• Every mode comes in Easy, Medium and Hard. Gold medals are not handed out, just coins and body damage.
  
• Every run ends with a rank, from Goon up to GoonCrusher. You will be a Goon for a while.

Know your goons

• Three themed families of goons: critters with no fear of cars, a tribe with a grudge, and a gang that builds its own.
  
• Every goon has unique behavior. Learn it and they're a speed bump. Ignore it and they're on your hood.
  
• The Goonopedia keeps a file on everything you've flattened, and pays a bounty for repeat business.

Pick your ride

• Yank the handbrake, hang the tail out, and let go for a boost. Anything standing beside the slide gets swatted.
  
• The van corners like a van. The supercar corners like, well... a supercar. Pick the one that suits the mess you're in.
  
• Every driver has two tricks of their own. The taxi's meter pays for driving like you mean it. The semi brings a trailer and rides on 18 glorious wheels. Advanced cars like the police cruiser and ambulance come with their own special bag of tricks.
  
• Your car keeps score. Lose the lights and the night gets longer. Lose the steering and you'll find out which way it pulls.
  
• Each driver has a unique car, dashboard and style. Find the one who drives like you do.

Crush goons, win prizes

• Crush enough and a gift box drops in with an arcade machine inside. Claw cranes, scratch cards, a slot machine. The house does not always win.
  
• 83 pickups to earn, and you choose which ones can turn up. Build the run you want.
  
• Room on the dash for one gadget and one boost: oil slicks, air horns, nitro, a hop.

Bring a friend

A second player presses Start on a controller and joins on a split screen with a dashboard of their own. Race each other in the Goon Cup; team up everywhere else. They can sit beside you, or join from anywhere with Steam Remote Play Together.

GoonCrusher Radio: all goons, all the time

Original songs, a DJ, ads for local businesses and station idents. Now playing: "There's a Goon on My Hood", "Trailer Park Superstar" and "She Left Me at the Truck Stop".

Runs on what you have

There is a quality setting called Potato. Disclaimer: does not run on an actual potato, but should still run on a computer that looks like a potato. Every key rebinds, and everything that shakes or flashes can be turned down.

The radio's songs and sung ads were made with AI music tools from lyrics written by the developer, and the DJ and other spoken lines use AI voices reading the developer's scripts. Driver portraits and menu backgrounds were made or edited with AI image tools, and the store capsule art is built from them. Cars, goons, pickups and the world are original, not made by generative AI. Nothing is generated while you play.
