What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We at HaZimation believe that a great game is only possible with direct feedback from the audience as early as possible. We want the community to play a part in helping us shape this game based on our animated feature film of the same name.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current early access is just one level, which gets the gameplay and story across with a gameplay time of around 25 - 30 mins. The full version will be around 6 hours + gameplay with features such as vehicle car chase action, rooftop leaping action with additional new weapons acquired as well as Max's RIFT abilities doing much more than what is avail in early access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All the game features mentioned in the about the game is playable, with minimal bugs such as some collision, but fully playable from start to end.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The early access is free for everyone on steam to play, and we will put a price on the full version only, once we have fully developed the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord channel + lots of updates via Steam community page section of the RIFT page. There will be regular Dev-log diary videos showing the latest updates as well as engaging directly with the community for feedback and running some feature ideas by them too.”

About This Game

Rift is a third person arcade-style shooter with elements of stealth, melee combat and tactical gameplay driven by a cinematic story bursting with twists and turns.

In RiFT, you must protect Max, a child with special abilities, and figure out ways to escape from Axion; a heavily guarded science research facility. However, Max becomes weaker whenever he uses his psychokinetic ability as a weapon. And in order to use Max’s ability, the player must have amassed a certain number of kill points.

Your primary objective is to escape from the research facility unscathed with Max, so you’ll have to use his abilities only when necessary.

The gameplay takes inspiration from the classic “capture the flag” mode but steps it up with intense and thrilling arcade action. Think of the anime AKIRA meets action movie THE RAID.

Your mission is - do whatever it takes to keep Max alive in each reality in order to bring balance to the universe.

If you fail - Max dies. If Max dies, the universe will shatter into chaos.
