When 16 year old Andi falls for the last person her parents would approve of, she seems to have trouble processing the severity of her girlfriend's situation. Cute visuals and crude humor helps to mask dark topics in the way that puts you in the headspace of a teenage girl trying to shut it all out.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“All endings of Atlas Ablaze are fully fleshed out and playable, so why early access?

There are two reasons for this. One is that Atlas Ablaze is the first game I've ever developed, so it's possible that players will find bugs that I and my testers have missed. I'm still learning, so they may not be quick fixes for me. Regardless, I want to have the game working as smoothly as possible.

The second reason is that I would like to some day update Atlas Ablaze with more artwork over time. It has a decent amount now, but there are some places where I could see myself adding in more drawings of Andi and her friends. Currently I'm a bit too burnt out when it comes to art to do this, but this is something I'd love to come back to in the future.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Atlas Ablaze will likely be in early access for a while, from somewhere between a few months to a year, as this is a solo project.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will hopefully have little to no bugs and more special artwork for a lot of the scenes. Ideally I'd like to almost double the amount of art but I don't know how realistic that is for the pace I currently work at. I'd especially like to add more drawings of characters I feel that we don't see enough of.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable all the way through. Each of the seven endings are completed and there's a good amount of extra artwork. You can refer to the "about this" section for more details.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan on changing the price at any time, unless to give discounts on special occasions.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“First of all, it would mean so much to me if players could report any bugs or errors they experience in as much detail as possible. I may respond and ask for more details if necessary.

I'm also open to suggestions on specific scenes that players think deserve some additional artwork, though it's not as much of a priority for me as having the game run smoothly.

The best way to contact me is through the email listed under my support contact info.”

About This Game

Atlas Ablaze is a visual novel that follows a girl named Andi as she discovers how it feels to yearn to know someone the way you know yourself. It's a story about a coming of age, sonder feelings, the acceptance of change and simply owning up to being human.

She's a 16 year old who finds herself falling in love with a young sex worker as she's simultaneously dealing with a sharp decline in her mental health. Her lack of experience in relationships not only affects her love life, but her friendships as well. As she begins to understand how it feels to care for people so much that love becomes your crutch, she also realizes just how many people care for themselves more than anyone else.

Acting as somewhat of a subconscious or an imaginary friend, you can help Andi make choices in her day to day life, influencing the way she interacts with the people around her. There are many different characters you can meet, some of which have secrets to be discovered. If your humor is warped to a point where you can't explain why any of it is funny anymore, living inside Andi's mind might be exactly what you need.

Features:
•This game can be beaten in around 4 and a half hours.
•There are seven different endings, though the same ending may look slightly different depending on less impactful choices the player has made.
•The player can occasionally snoop through Andi's phone, finding extra artwork, reading text messages, etc.
•All of the visuals are pixel art, with chiptune inspired music to match the atmosphere.
•A large amount of the game has a light, pastel color pallet.

-Disclaimer: None of the characters, including the sex workers, are meant to be sexualized-

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

-Mentions of sex/sex trafficking
-Brief mentions of sexual assault
-Mature language
