What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access will enable us to get some feedback from players on things like the difficulty of the AI bots, how well the tutorial teaches the game, desired features or changes to existing ones, and to identify any potential bugs not already found in our own testing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to be in Early Access as minimally as possible but it will depend on the feedback we get.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Besides improving the game per the feedback, some additional features may be added: controller support is high on the list, as well as adding the ability to scroll back through the game log history, and potential audio/visual improvements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's fully playable and all the major bugs have been fixed. The final release will only vary from the Early Access version in terms of greater stability and some possible extra features.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price is not expected to change when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to respond to player suggestions and bug reports, including indicating the likelihood of a change being made from the comment given.”

About This Game

Biblios Dice is a digital adaptation of the dice game by Dr. Finn. In it you are working as medieval monks to produce illustrations and improve the prestige of your abbey.

In Biblios Dice players compete by rolling dice and making tactical decisions on which of several resource tracks to pursue. Each of the five different resource tracks change value based on player decisions, altering the total value they are worth. This means players will want to both improve on the different tracks while simultaneously increasing the value of the tracks they're pursuing and devaluing those of others. When the time comes for the mule to make it to market, which happens every few rounds, dice are auctioned off to the highest bidders providing a rich set of resources so long as money isn't over-spent. Favor with the Bishop, its own track, will also significantly affect total prestige based on how much money the player earns.
