Swelter

About This Game

Swelter is an unofficial story-driven modification for Half-Life 2, the events of which take place a few years before Gordon Freeman appeared in City-17. The summer sun heated the lands of Central Asia long before the appearance of Combine, but the last days here are hot not because of this.
A series of armed riots in City 545 encourages the unification of scattered resistance groups for the common goal of liberation from the aliens.
Only a special person can resolve contradictions between allies.
A representative of the secret agents of lambda resistance, who arrived from afar, disembarks from the train at the most suitable moment...

You will find classic shooter gameplay inspired by the original game, puzzles (especially with the physical interaction of objects), driving a controlled vehicle and free exploration of locations. The average passage will take from two hours.

The visual component will try to please you with a rarely represented environment of Central Asia, spacious steppes, rocky deserts, as well as a city that combines oriental and socialist architecture. All this you can contemplate while listening to the unique musical combination of the original soundtrack and local ethnic motifs.

The plot will tell you about the ideological split between the former allies. Each in-game faction has its own views on the fight against invaders from another world, its own strengths and weaknesses. The modification does not contain any manifesto and does not go beyond rudeness and cruelty.
