Miksi Early Access?

As a primarily two-people studio, tackling such a large project like "Duel Corp." takes a lot of our time. During Early access, we aim to fill the game with additional content and features, new themes and items, as well as engaging mechanics and gameplay. By bringing Duel Corp. to Early Access, we're hoping to continue development with the support and feedback of our beloved community. We want to keep you involved during all the steps of Early Access, gather your input & opinions, and use it to make Duel Corp. an even better experience for everyone.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

The main purpose of Early Access is to make sure that "Duel Corp." turns into a well rounded product for full release. Duel Corp. will remain in Early Access until we're satisfied it's the complete experience we want it to be. We estimate that we will be in early access for about one year.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

We are treating Early Access version as the base that we will build from, filling the game with more content, themes, characters and interesting new features. We also have quality of life improvements in mind.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The core features of the game are implemented in such a way that many hours of play are required to unlock all Early Access content and/or complete the game. The game includes many talents, unique abilities/spells and an unrestriced class system for a wide variety of customization options. There are many additional features that will be added during Early Access.

We value our followers and Early Access supporters, so we want to offer our game at a reduced price while in Early Access.

We are already actively seeking feedback and communicating with our players, whether in the Steam forums or in our Discord channel. We will provide regular updates (status reports) and iterate until both our team and the community are happy with the result.

Story

The story is not told in a linear fashion. Instead, you experience it naturally as you explore the world, interact with factions, and discover their secrets.

The main plot revolves around an event that darkened everyone's eyes. This event had two far-reaching consequences: it gave all living beings a cursed immortality and resurrected the dead as soulless beings.

As a result, the world fragmented into factions, each with its own ideology on how to deal with this new reality.

Some seek to restore the natural order at any cost. Others believe this state of affairs is a form of evolution or a blessing, but now struggle to control the relentless threat posed by the soulless. Still others seek a way to coexist with or even control the soulless, viewing them as a resource rather than an abomination.

Character Customization: Use a character editor to customize your avatar's appearance to your liking.
Unrestricted Class Sytem: Craft a deep, fully customizable class using a wide variety of weapons, armor, abilities, and talents tailored to your playstyle. A stealthy rogue wielding a great axe and hurling fireballs, anything is possible.
Direction-based Combat: Engage in intense, challenging, and fluid directional combat scenarios.
Story: The story is not told in a linear fashion. Instead, you experience it naturally as you explore the world, interact with factions, and discover their secrets.
MMO Feel: Discover a lively world with MMO feel, where you can meet and interact with other players.
Singleplayer: Play solo with up to three companions or in co-op mode with up to four players. Build friendships with your companions, customize their equipment and skills, and tailor their playstyle to suit your strategy.
Multiplayer: Easily participate in co-op quests for up to four players or competitive PvP battles (1v1 and 2v2). The matchmaking feature lets you jump right into the action.
Shape the Open-World Sandbox: Shape the world through your actions by intercepting caravans to weaken villages, exploiting conflicts between rival factions, and conquering villages and cities to take control and collect taxes.
Procedural Encounters: Discover varied, procedurally generated encounters full of secrets, unique items, allies, and challenges. Find your own way to overcome obstacles by creatively using the skills you've acquired.
Retro meets modern gaming: Step into a unique pixel-art retro fantasy environment with 2D HD textures in modern and never-before-seen graphics full of surprises, twisted monsters and deadly bosses.
