What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ostera is our very first game, and we're keen to improve it according to your needs and feedback as we go along. Because even though Ostera: The curse of... has taken many years of learning and development, it's you, the Ostera community, who will make this game even better.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's always difficult to predict in advance how our game will evolve and how long it will take. At the rate we're going at the moment, we're looking at around 6 months before we can wrap up the whole story.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the final version of Ostera, we plan to:
- Conclude the story,
- Add a new difficulty mode to give more experienced players a greater challenge.
- And finally, if necessary and possible, to add patches and balancing.
Early Access is supposed to have a lot in common with the final version, apart from the content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access includes all the main features planned, as well as the entire core gameplay, i.e. :
- The default difficulty mode,
- Manage, explore and fight": these 3 points, highlighted in the ‘about this’ section, are currently present,
- You can save and reload on any day,
- You can edit your settings ( Screen resolution, ratio, level of sound, music etc...)
- You can play in English and French,
- There are currently around a hundred complaints, all different (5 complaints per day),
- For exploration, in addition to the introduction, Early Access includes 3 expeditions with battles,
- The interface is just as we wanted it, although we're open to suggestions for improvement,
- Early Access represents around 2 hours of gameplay (based on playtest sessions).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we'd like to gradually increase the price as major updates are released. Rest assured, the price will not exceed double the initial price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We've put several communication strategies in place.
1. We did some test streams on Twitch during the graphic production of Ostera, which were very well received and we're going to start again in January with additional streams on narrative production.
2. We have a discord where players can chat directly with us.
3. Approximately once a week, we post an update on the progress of early access on X, Bluesky and Instagram. We also exchange a lot of private messages via our networks.
4. We invite a lot of streamers to try out our game, so we get live feedback.

In conclusion, Ostera's Early Access is already very mature, and complete in its gameplay comfort.
We obviously have ideas for possible improvements, but for now we're going to concentrate on the game's content and your feedback.”
