Why Early Access?

“Athanasia is getting quite close to completion. With that said, we still want to release the best game we can. We believe an Early Access period will give us valuable community input to polish the current experience while showing the progress we've made toward the final release. Early Access also lets us take your feedback into account as we develop the remaining parts of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We intend to release version 1.0 sometime in the middle of 2027. That said, game development can be fickle! It may take longer than anticipated for Athanasia to hatch. If delays arise, we’ll keep you updated on the what and why.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final, content complete version of Athanasia is intended to feature 6 distinct areas, a variety of enemy types, and a wide arsenal of weapons and equipment. Depending on community feedback and the pace of development, we may seek to add some additional areas, items and/or enemies beyond our current plans, but our main focus is to deliver what we've already promised.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Athanasia includes the first 3 areas of the game, which represents about half of the game's intended length. Though subject to change based on feedback, the core systems are already in place, and most enemy and item types have already been created and implemented. Level design, creation of graphical assets, and polishing of existing content represents the bulk of remaining work.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“To give our early supporters the best value, we are offering Athanasia at a lower price during the Early Access period. Our intention is to raise the price upon full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Though we have a strong vision for the full release of Athanasia, we want to work together with our community to deliver the best immersive sim experience possible. We'll be paying close attention to our Steam discussion board, Discord server, and social media for feedback to fold into our existing plans. Give us your thoughts, ideas, and bug reports!
