Why Early Access?

“Masters of Mayhem is a multiplayer social deduction game that genuinely gets better the more people play it. Our open beta weekends showed us that community feedback directly shapes how the game evolves, from ability balance to map design to the moment-to-moment chaos that makes each match feel alive. Early Access lets us build alongside the people playing it, shipping new content and responding to what the community loves, hates, and wants more of, rather than guessing from the outside. We believe the best version of Masters of Mayhem is one built with its players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate being in Early Access for approximately one year, though this will be guided by the scope of content we want to deliver and the feedback we receive from our community. We are committed to being in Early Access only as long as it takes to reach a version of the game we are genuinely proud of.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Monster Lockdown is our debut game mode and the foundation of Early Access, but Masters of Mayhem is designed to be an expanding multiplayer universe. We plan to introduce additional game modes that explore entirely different genres while staying true to our multiplayer mayhem ethos. We plan to grow our character roster, with more loveable, lore-rich characters already waiting in the wings. We also plan to expand our perk and ability systems, introduce new maps and scenarios, and build out the broader Masters of Mayhem world with more surprises, cosmetics, and community-driven content. The full version will represent a much larger and more varied experience than what launches in Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Masters of Mayhem launches into Early Access with our debut game mode, Monster Lockdown, fully playable in public and private lobbies for 4 to 15 players. The game features social deduction gameplay with roguelike perk systems and online multiplayer with both voice and text chat.
At launch, players can explore two unique maps: an Arctic facility and a Temple, each with its own atmosphere, layout, and a distinct monster lurking within. Both maps are packed with environmental hazards that keep every match unpredictable, from raging fires to a giant rolling boulder that has a habit of catching everyone off guard. Players can choose from a good selection of original characters, each with their own personality, lore, and a range of colour variations to make them their own.
The core experience has been shaped through playtests and beta weekends, giving us confidence in the foundation we are launching with. Some features and systems are still being developed and improved, and players should expect the game to evolve meaningfully throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Masters of Mayhem is free to play, and that will not change. We do not plan to introduce pricing at the end of Early Access. Our focus is on making the game as accessible as possible and growing our player base, with cosmetics and optional content supporting the game over time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community is at the heart of how we build Masters of Mayhem. We are open, present, and genuinely connected to our players. Our Discord server is our primary home for that relationship, and we have a dedicated feedback channel where players can share thoughts, flag issues, and tell us what they want to see. We take every piece of feedback seriously. It gets reviewed by the team and fed directly into our design process, influencing decisions on everything from ability balance to new content priorities. No suggestion disappears into a void. We plan to continue this approach throughout Early Access, keeping communication honest and transparent as the game grows.”

About This Game

Masters of Mayhem is a free-to-play social deduction game with roguelike twists for 4–15 players. Work together to restore abandoned facilities and contain terrifying monsters — unless you're an imposter, in which case… have fun unleashing mayhem!

ADOPT THE ROLE OF INNOCENT OR IMPOSTOR

  • At the start of each game, you'll be secretly assigned the role of Innocent or Impostor.

  • Only Impostors know who the other Impostors are!

  • Make socially strategic decisions - identify Impostors, or lie through your teeth!

COMPLETE TASKS OR TAKE OUT INNOCENTS!

  • As an Innocent, complete tricky and tactile tasks while being on the look out for suspicious behaviour.

  • As an Impostor, take out Innocents while remaining undetected!

VOTE OUT IMPOSTORS OR FRAME INNOCENTS!

  • Plead your case in the voting room.

  • Frame others, share evidence, spread speculations and theories!

  • Find out the truth as voted out Imps fall into the abyss - but beware, every Imp can still influence the game in the afterlife!
