Why Early Access?

“We are making a game that is set in a comedic and entirely fictional version of the wild west where you can live, thrive, and go on adventures full of western tropes and hijinks. We greatly value your feedback and it will have a big impact on the development of 'Don't Die in the West.' By first releasing the game in early access we can get vital feedback, continue to improve, and ultimately work together with the community to make the game the best cowboy adventure game it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We want to take our time and make sure the game is really good, so we'll keep listening to what the community says and work on the game until we think it has reached a form where we are happy to call it 1.0. We have a rough plan for how we imagine the game could turn out, but we will definitely change things based on your feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are constantly working on expanding the world of Don't Die in the West with new quests, biomes, characters, and cowboy activities. We have a ton of features we want to add, but we also want to hear from you what you think is most important. We have a “living roadmap” that you can find on the store page that outlines some of the features we want to add, and a rough timeline of their release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In Don't Die in the West, you have the freedom to pursue many different goals. You can choose to be a notorious outlaw who solves every problem with a revolver or a heroic cowboy who helps those less fortunate. The decision is up to you. By playing the game during Early Access, you can experience many of the features that will go into the full game release such as building a ranch, crafting tools and weapons, fighting rival gangs, helping the townsfolk in Tumbleville by completing their quests, exploring the dangerous mineshafts, and much more.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don’t have any definitive plans for this at the moment, but most likely the game will see a small increase in price by the end of Early Access to reflect the broadened scope and feature set of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are using our Discord server as our main community channel. If you have any ideas for the game or want to tell us what you think about it, you can use Discord to do that. You can put your ideas in the #feature_suggestions channel and bugs in the #bug-reports channel.
In addition, we are active on the Steam Community Forum so if you are opposed to using Discord, you can share your thoughts there.”
