Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer, I can't expect to make the best possible game inside my bubble without input from others. I love the game and the direction its heading and an early access release will allow me to make the proper adjustments as I gain a better understanding of what other players want in a VR RPG. The feedback during this final phase of development will be invaluable.”

“About 1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version provides full map access but has not had multiplayer fully integrated. Within the early access is virtually every game mechanic that will exist in the full version. The Full version will include new higher tier items, skills, enemies, quests, and tasks in addition to the completion of multiplayer functionality integration for PVE/Co-Op.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state is a very enjoyable single player game experience up to and over level 50, and while multiplayer is available it is not fully supported until the integration is complete. The entire map is fully available to explore. Performance optimization is ongoing, but the experience is great on recommended hardware with some minor hitches, generally stable frame rates at or above 90fps on recommended hardware. The game is constantly evolving and growing, expect frequent updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price will not change as the game leaves early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through discord, users are able to report issues and make suggestions for future improvements. Everyone who wants to have a voice shall have one, and we will be sure to listen and engage directly with users to support these enhancements.”

About This Game

Welcome to RFVR

a massive open world VR RPG set in a magical fantasy medieval world on a remote and dangerous island. Here there are thousands of acres of wilderness to explore including large complex cave systems, ancient ruins, and sparse human settlements throughout one persistent world with no loading screens or instances.

Intense Combat

Combat is fast paced and physics based, allowing for any combination of melee, magic spells, ranged weapons, or summoning.

Deep Player Progression

Level up through experience gained from combat and find quests for various professions such as cooking, farming, blacksmithing, hunting, and mining. Leveling up these professions will have a profound impact on the effectiveness of each. Profession levels are increased by performing specific tasks related to the profession, such as harvesting the meat from a deer, crafting a campfire, cooking food, mining crystal ore, blacksmithing a weapon, or even planting a seed.

Expand your influence

Assist the colonies with expansion by building new structures, equipping the town guard with more powerful weapons and armor, and providing other goods and services to the townsfolk.

Online CO/OP

Best of all, you can do all of this with friends online. RFVR is still in active development and has plenty of room to grow with realistic goals, and a dedicated, highly motivated solo developer.
