What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because a game like Dancing Cube also takes shape with a controller in hand, alongside the people playing it!

We want to know what makes you start another round, which sections drive you up the wall, and which powers cause the best chaos among friends. Early Access lets us gather that feedback as the game evolves, helping us refine levels, balance powers, and improve the experience.

You can already play, beat your records, and challenge your friends. And if you have something to tell us after a round, we’re here to listen.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We haven’t set a release date for version 1.0 yet. There’s still work to do on content, balancing, and making the game more comfortable to play, and we want room to adjust our priorities based on community feedback.

Our goal is a richer, more polished experience. We’ll share development progress through Steam announcements and Discord, and give a clearer timeline when we have an estimate we can stand behind.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We want to give you even more reasons to start a round, discover a new track, and get your own back on your friends.

As development continues, we plan to work on:

  • New levels and music, with a wider variety of obstacles and challenges.
  • New powers and better balancing of the existing ones.
  • Improvements to the current modes and exploring new ways to play.
  • More options to customise multiplayer matches, including which powers appear, how often they spawn, lives, and music speed.
  • A more convenient Creative Mode for building, testing, and sharing levels.
  • More Steam achievements for players who enjoy a challenge.
  • Improvements to the interface, translations, performance, and stability.

We’re also considering Linux and macOS versions, depending on demand and the resources needed to develop and maintain them.

These plans may change during development. Community feedback will help us decide which improvements to prioritise.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can already dodge obstacles, beat your records, and unleash chaos with friends across several musical levels.

Three game modes are available:

  • Free Play: play levels solo and aim for the highest score. Every hit costs points, but it won’t end your run.
  • Endless Mode: survive with one life as the music gradually speeds up. Compare your best time with friends and other players on the online leaderboards.
  • Multiplayer: compete with friends in matches for 2–4 players, locally or through Steam Remote Play Together, with powers to make life harder for your opponents.

Creative Mode is also available: you can build your own levels with music of your choice, test them, and share them with friends.

The game is still in development. You may encounter bugs, some parts of the interface and editor need further work, and balancing is ongoing. The current content is playable, but it doesn’t yet cover everything we want to do with Dancing Cube.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price when the game leaves Early Access to reflect the content and improvements added along the way.

The current price lets you join Dancing Cube for less than the price we’re considering for version 1.0. It’s also our way of thanking the players who join us during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Got an idea for a power? Found a section that feels unfair? Had a bug crash the party? Tell us!

You can talk to us on Discord and in the Steam discussions, or use the bugs and feedback form available from the game’s main menu.

We’ll use that feedback to identify problems, fine-tune balancing, and guide future improvements. We won’t be able to include every idea, but knowing what you enjoy, what gets in your way, and what feels missing helps us make better decisions.

And if you create a level you’re proud of, share it with the community. We want to see what you’ll make us dodge, too!”

About This Game

Keep up with the music. Keep an eye on your friends.

Dancing Cube is a musical bullet hell inside a giant 3D cube that transforms to the beat. Dodge red obstacles, jump out of danger, and stay on your toes as the arena changes shape around you.

Learn each track’s obstacle patterns and find your way through without getting hit. Take on the challenge solo or bring your friends along—with wild powers in play, the obstacles won’t be your only problem!

Bring your friends into the mix

Compete in matches for 2–4 players, locally or from different homes through Steam Remote Play Together.

Everyone’s chasing the highest score. Every hit costs points, but nobody gets knocked out of the round, so everyone stays in the action until the music stops.

Grab powers as they appear around the cube and give your opponents something else to worry about. Unleash shockwaves, cause trouble with black holes, or steal another player’s power by jumping on their head. Just expect them to return the favour.

Find your rhythm in Free Play

Take on the levels solo and chase your personal best. Getting hit won’t end your run, so you can play each track through to the end and get the hang of its obstacles.

Every hit still costs points, though! Learn the tricky sections, improve your timing, and come back for a cleaner run and a higher score.

How long can you last in Endless Mode?

One hit ends your run. Survive for as long as you can as the music gradually speeds up and the challenge gets tougher.

Every extra second counts. Beat your best time and see how you stack up against friends and other players on the online leaderboards.

Your music. Your levels.

Got a song you’d love to play? Open Creative Mode and build a level around it with the in-game editor.

Choose your music, create your obstacle patterns, and let your friends take on your creation. Make something they can ease into or a challenge they’ll be determined to beat. This time, you decide what everyone has to dodge.
