What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Skulker is a game with multiple gameplay mechanics, so we want to get as much feedback as possible from our players and shape the game based on your valuable suggestions. Whether it's gameplay, feel and quality, we want to create the best possible gaming experience for our players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The EA version lasts about 6 months or less, and the full version will be updated within 2025.
Until then we will be in EA status. This time may vary depending on the feedback we receive, and we want to make sure that the final product meets the standards expected by players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the EA version, we have full gameplay and game mechanics, with the full version expected to be completed in 2025.
We expect the full version to have a more complete and polished set of gameplay and content than the EA version, as well as Steam achievements and a true ending to the story.
We're taking the feedback we've gotten from the EA version and polishing it up even further, and we're planning to include more fishing, more areas, and a fuller story for the world in the full version!
During the EA process, we plan to release a major update with new features and content every few months, and release patches thereafter to fix any issues that arise.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current version, all the game mechanics have been perfected and we are working hard to fix and polish the overall experience.
The EA version has all the explorable levels of the first Fishing Planet, as well as dozens of gears, thousands of catches, and other game content.
We want the EA version to be far enough along in development to be a great experience for as many players as possible, but not so close to the end of development that we can act on the feedback we receive.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Depending on how long the game's EA lasts, and what content is added to the game during that time, we may raise the price of the game at some subsequent point in time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As we continue to build and polish all aspects of the game, we will actively consider feedback from the player community.

You can leave feedback on our official Discord server (linked in-game) or head over to the Steam forums to discuss it. We also read feedback left in various other online forums. We are continuing to make many changes and optimizations based on feedback from the player community; these will be reflected in the update announcement.

Additionally, players have the opportunity to help us improve the game just by playing it, as they have the option to anonymously send us gameplay data, which we plan to use as a reference as we continue to optimize the game. Our impressions as a development team, the feedback from the player community, and the data we collect from players will all help us realize more fully how to make the game as good as it can be.”
