About This Game

A Better Future

After escaping the city of Machinarium, Josef and Berta crash-land in the barrens. Climbing down a nearby cliff, they discover a lush hidden valley, home to two peculiar robot tribes. One lives in a monastery high on the rocks, the other in a city down below, and both are slowly running short of power.

Side by Side

This time around, you'll guide both Josef and Berta, switching between them freely and using their unique abilities to crack all sorts of puzzles neither could solve alone. Just like before, you'll communicate with the robots you meet through animated thought bubbles, symbols, and gestures. Not a single line of text to read!

Pick up a gamepad and you move the two little robots directly, no cursor between you and them. We think it's the best way to play Machinarium 2. Of course, the mouse still works perfectly too, if you want that classic adventure feel.

Hand-Drawn and Alive

Every rusted pipe, weathered wall, and towering structure in Machinarium 2 is entirely hand-drawn, brought to life stroke by stroke, in a style that borrows from old master drawings and Renaissance landscape paintings.

The robots living here get the same care, all richly animated and full of expression, bringing something unexpectedly human to a world of rusted machines.

Tomáš Dvořák Returns

Listeners of the Machinarium soundtrack will recognize the roots of this new work by Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex, but the music has clearly grown up. The signature robot universe and acoustic textures remain, now elevated by symphonic arrangements sometimes with a touch of Renaissance flavor.

  • One player, two robots. Switch between Josef and Berta at any time

  • A whole new world. Explore the Elektrona monastery, the city of Oilton and their surroundings

  • Wordless storytelling. Communicate through gestures and symbols

  • All hand-drawn. Inspired by Renaissance landscape paintings

  • Gamepad or mouse. Both fully supported

  • Music by Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex. The composer of the original Machinarium returns
